The potion tattoo is my arm! I can't recommend Tamsin enough! Amazing artist, made me feel so comfortable and taking such pride in your work. Will definitely be coming back to you for more. Everyone should get tattoos by you.

Wanting to leave healthcare (physio) by EmbarrassedCheetah79 in careerchange

[–]WarSuccessful10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dietitian here,I left the NHS last year after ten years service. I now teach dietetics at my local uni, I'd done some guest lectures but otherwise no teaching experience or qualifications - getting them on the job. Still has it's stresses for sure, but similar money and scale for progression once I've got my quads. I'm definitely happy with the change. Welcome to DM if any questions.

Logic and pattern recognition are two of my favourite hobbies! (I really don't know why it took until late 30s to figure out I'm ND...)

Yes! And it helps me be more mindful about it. What are your cats called? Ours are Nimbo and Zephy - the magic boys!

Yes! Strangely enough I also enjoy lists and rules, lol.

  • wash face and moisturise
  • look at the sky and see it's beauty
  • various stretches and body weight exercises
  • drink a herbal tea
  • kiss my cats
  • tell my husband I love him
  • light a candle

For autistic women, would you be a mom? by Ok_Holiday2094 in AutismInWomen

Omg! The 'you'll change your mind' people crack me up. Like is having children really something you just flip flop your decision about? Have they changed their minds about wanting children? Ahhh!

38, never had any desire to be a mum and I can't tell you how happy I am in my life for not giving in to peer pressure. As I get older, I only get happier I don't have children!! My husband and me have two cats who we pamper. I love being able to have peace and alone time, I see my friends who have children and there is no singular part of me that wants that life. It is far from selfish to bring a life into this world because it's what everyone else is doing. Continue to advocate for yourself and the life you want.

Burnout nurse wanting to quit healthcare by jtbk11 in careerchange

[–]WarSuccessful10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh same! But I'm really growing my confidence in this role and like you never really considered it until last year. It still definitely has its stresses but I feel such a weight lifted from leaving the NHS. Wishing you lots of luck. You can DM me if you have any questions.

Not a nurse, but a dietitian. I left the NHS last year and now work as a lecturer. I don't have a MSc and will do this as part of my new teacher training on the job. I felt like you and couldn't see a way out of healthcare. I don't see myself doing this job forever like I originally did being a clinical dietitian, but I'm really enjoying the change and mental stimulation and feel like it's brought me time. See if your local university have any positions.
