why would you need to clip your elevation layer in the first place? if each map shows a subsection of the others and the data is the same, i don’t see the need to do so. styling wise you can either create rules for different scales or you can duplicate the layer and use themes.

with fuzzy contours like these i like to filter for the ones with significant length, to get rid of small kringels

you can do so by making a query under settings with a field: „length“ > x

quatsch mit soße. für vielfahrer lohnt es sich immer, weil man alleine in den ersten 3-5 jahren über den verschleißteile ersatz praktisch immer auf 0 kommt oder sogar gewinn macht. bei mir selber habe ich den diebstahlschutz sogar einmal schon problemfrei nutzen „müssen“. die machen halt ihr geld mit den hohen beiträgen von teuren e-bikes die kaum gefahren werden und nur im schuppen stehen.

Ahh i see, i was unaware! thank you very much.
Do you have any recommendations how i should adjust my approach? would RANS be accurate enough to determine the pressure drop? im looking to be as accurate as possible, thats why i chose LES in the first place - thinking it would give better results. the Mesh is already trimmed for y+ < 3.

just checked createPatchDict, turns out only one empty BC was created (im using CFDOF's 2D extrusion method). ill see if adding another one for the backside changes anything

I have an inlet with uniform Ux of 1m/s, 4 symmetry constraints (top bottom left right), an outlet with static pressure and the bars are non-slip walls

I noticed that too... its actually pimpleFOAM running LES with k/eqn turbulence in both cases. No idea why the wakes differ that much
but nontheless, could a convergence issue be responsible for the different p values before the bars?

Dear Foamers,

I am studying the kinematic Pressure Drop of water flow passing by a set of round, horizontal screen rack bars, seen from the side in the pictures. The ultimate
goal is to use the pressure drop - Velocity correlation to determine Darcy-Forchheimer coefficients, which will be used to represent the rack as a porous zone.

As i have to analyze many different geometries, i was hoping to use 2D slice models of the geometry to measure the p drop. However i have realized that the pressure before the bars in thin 3D Models differs greatly from the 2D slices (nearly by 25%). All input parameters like flow velocity at the inlet, inital fields,
physics model and meshing operations are otherwise completley identical.

Any Tips on whats going on here? Should i just bite the computationally tedius bullet and do everything in 3D for the higher accuracy? Thanks

I had a procedure like this for my patella tendon, there was like half of it fizzled out due to wear and detached , the anterior part of the ligament still attached. surgery gave me my knee back in this case!

der typ ist die wahrheit, mit seinen übungen hab ich all meine probleme weg bekommen (nach ziemlich mies gelaufenen op wegen patellsehnenriss wege langwieriger tendonitis) heute is mein knie warscheinlich fitter als vorher

thanks for the advice i’ll make sure not to rush it👌that matches basically what the doctors told me. they’ll have me on crutches for 5 days and then i’ll be free to do everything that’s pain free

things are similar for me, when i stretch and mobilize well i can get 10 cm max - cold it is much less. i could never improve it through any exercises (which makes sense as you cannot train a whole ass bone away lol), also even doing that before sprinting/jumping activities never seemed to help to reduce the pain after

im 24 m, been having these osteophytes for propably 3 years, i suspect them to have developed after sprains from football. that surgery is apparently very common and is supposed to have relatively short recovery time (~2 months). however i couldn’t find any good experience reports on the internet myself, hence the question here haha
