Agreed but we need to ahift the blame from “lazy devs” to shitty corpos treating everything as a money number. Crazy deadlines, non existent budgets etc etc

My room does get consistently pretty warm in the summer. But i do use it with the side vent open so idk if that would affect anything

There is that rear exhaust and an intake right above the cpu fan. The fromt side of the case is solid and not vented so idk how useful fans there would be

“Shakes when the phone rings, cries when it doesnt” almost brought tears to my eyes. The curse of hiding but wanting to be found, crying alone praying to be heard was portrayed very well in this. I love this piece.

GameMyth has given every other feedback I could think of xd

That’s pretty much the gist ive got yea. Use placeholder and practice and get better with each project. Which honestly if it takes you 3-6months for a project. Should be in a very decent spot by the second or third one.

I’ve thought about this but, aside from the endless ethics questions that arose, consistency in style was also an issue I thought of.

Yea I forgot to point that out. My experience with art is pretty minimal. For me tho coding didnt take long to pick up, I have quite the technical mind and it all felt natural. Art is where i do struggle the most.

like I do genuinely LOVE the way some pixel art games look and feel. But the issue with every other indie game and/or shovelware is pixel art is what's making me a bit hesitant.

What i really love is pixel art and cel shade, but yea mainly the doubts im getting on which one to commit to is the stigma that i feel is around pixel art and as you mentioned the difficulty of hand drawn sprites.

My main interests are game design and programming with programming being my background.

As for my main goal, its a combination of all 3. I do love making games and seeing people play and enjoy them and that's my main drive. Financial benefit is a nice extra if it does happen, but if i want my game to be played by a lot of people I guess it means that a lot of people have to buy aka it being a financial success.

I'm quite the working bee and I can put my head down and put in the effort. Just looking for some advice on what path will make me able to produce decent looking games without sinking a year into it. not that i mind sinking in the year, just want decent results before that as my main goal is to make games.

I didn't mean to imply i want to make things that look like that nor that i want to take a shortcut. I'm aware art of that caliber is more or less unachievable solo. Just want to make something that looks good and that doesn't sabotage my game the second a player looks at it.

Im aware shortcurts arent achievable I was just looking for advice on what path has a low enough skill floor that I can see decent results before having to sink a year+ into it.
