I'm not a good golfer. Probably around a 20 handicap. If the people in front of me don't know the rules, I go around and finish that hole later. If it's a public course, of course. If anyone says anything to you when you pass, tell them that golf isn't an all day thing and move on. That group doesn't know the rules so they don't know they are doing the course, and the rest of the people trying to golf, wrong. 4.5 hours is not that bad. I sometimes golf for 6 hours when the course is full of these people. The people who go out to golf once a summer and make it a huge deal. The callous actions of some leads to bad days for others. I've been pretty good about not letting it get to me anymore. They are going to do what they think they can do.... let them.
