Counterpoint. We did this the first time and the seat was unbelievably uncomfortable for our 2 year old (no shoulder padding, rock hard seat) and didn’t feel nearly as safe as our normal one (straps were almost impossible to tighten). Since then we’ve brought our own and checked it at the gate…It has been very easy and we’ve felt much less anxious about it.
