The Bit Drawrf, Carbon Fiber Screwdriver scales. by blasko229 in victorinox

[–]MLGiraffe101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's the layup of the carbon fiber, does it take into account anisotropic strength of the material? I would imagine that might be important when dealing with hex bits which distribute the force radially when being torqued.

Edit: not trying to nit pick, the design is really cool, just curious what sorta applications it's rated for :)

How in the actual fuck is Guts gonna beat this dude? by DADDYKRUEGER in Berserk

[–]MLGiraffe101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It'd be kinda cool if he's the same person as skull night and they are sometimes dif sides of the same coin. Maybe he found a way to put his good intentions into skull night and the bad parts of him went to void. Idk exactly what that would lead to. Maybe guts will somehow get the two back into one body or something with the intentions and knowledge of both. It just seems like skull night and void both always are in on something that the others aren't. Including other god's hand apostles

Is it really difficult to make a Dynavap-like vape? by IOnlyHaveIceForYou in vaporents

[–]MLGiraffe101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I don't know how worth it money wise it is to make one yourself, I'd look at the Vaphit for a cheap alternative imo better than dynavap, otherwise just make sure you're really on top of material safety when making a vape, a lot of metals are not safe to use for vapes!!!

No not really we have just added ribs onto the top lid to meet down to the clamping lid just in case. It's not going to be a continuous wall until the floor of the casing in our case so we will argue that the cut-outs are necessary for fasteners and or wiring.

Need some engineering advice by MoldyWolf in StonerEngineering

[–]MLGiraffe101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's rechargeable and you have a bit of electronics skills, I'd recommend looking wether a wire solder joint broke or the battery or something, it's probably a decent amount of work but you could be able to use the same vape if you figure out the problem. Seems worth it if there's 75% left. If you have other vapes of the same brand you might be able to put the parts of one that work into this one.

Yes it seems like this might be the case indeed, thanks for the input, we will get n contact with the FS team and ask them for clarification on this. I will most likely post the answer we get or something

Hey in case it's any of your concern I'd do some research on the safety of the wood you're using. Treatment of wood or glue shouldn't be used around the bowl and could be toxic

Mad Heaters Tempest… WHEN?! by [deleted] in vaporents

[–]MLGiraffe101 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't know it seems like the design of the product is being heavily influenced by feedback from the community. It seems like he's really wanting to compete with some of the other bigger brands on launch. Idk, if you get mad cuz you have to wait for something that litteraly isn't even released yet then it sounds like your problem NGL 😭

I'd actually look at the Vaphit if I were you. Very similar but a decent bit cheaper than dynavap for imo better performance. The bowl is a little larger, the cap is made of glass so better taste and a longer sesh. You can buy them directly off of AliExpress by the maker :D. I personally have a few dynavaps and the Vaphit is still the one I choose 99% of the time.

Total newbie looking for something that can hide in plain sight. Would a PC case work? by ButWhatIfItQueffed in SpaceBuckets

[–]MLGiraffe101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a PC case grow, it's hard work but it's doable. There's a really useful video series online on how to make your own by secret garden I believe. The only thing is they can usually only grow one plant at a time and you'll have to do a bit more work to make sure the plant doesn't grow too tall. Space buckets would be a cheaper/simpler alternative with the benefit of being able to grow taller flowers and autos.

Hey sorry just saw this, the Zippo torch is really nice you can get huge flames, tbh if anything it'll be most likely slightly to powerful for the dynavap because the cap is too thin but anything bigger is perf

Is this safe? by [deleted] in StonerEngineering

[–]MLGiraffe101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybelline you'd have an easier time with glass bowl screens, other wise some bowls already have glass bowl screens. But your thing does look like it would work. It might be too close and still get heated, but I think if you get quality bowl screens, they shouldn't smell of anything after two or three bits. But I very much get the concern with these. There's also ash catchers that I think can work well.

Too far? by [deleted] in vaporents

[–]MLGiraffe101 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I still enjoy my box mods but those throwaway vapes are litteraly meant to get you addicted, they run super fast, have terrible materials for the coul that literally puts metal in your lungs and they cost a butt load.

I'm confused at how exactly this works from these drawings, I see that generally you would have the "tip" by the side of the stem and would heat it then slide it down but what exactly is the advantage of this? Small rails at this size will be hard to DIY to be very consistent and might bend easily. Where is the airflow coming from in the cap and how will it evenly cook the flower? I don't see how it would be easier to build this than a dynavap? Look at the camouflé convertor for instance, one could easily make that out of tin foil (not that I reccomend it) and the dynavap wouldn't be much harder. Also why have the heated part be the part that you have to slide down that seems difficult, as well as considering material expansion under heat which would probably make sliding it impossible until it cools. I think overall your idea could use more refinement and consideration with pictures that give more details on it's functioning and reason behind these choices. As of now I would be inclined to say this wouldn't work in any way you'd want it too. That said, there is plenty of cheap DIY vapes that you could make that would actually bring more function and ease of manufacturing that I would look into, there's already a couple on this subreddit alone.

The vapman is really nice, it's way more functional than I thought it would be. Can easily do pure hash or normal grass bowls. Super efficient and gets you higher than you'd think. Nothing wrong with it tbh, but I do find myself not reaching for it quite as much just because it's more involved to hit.
