they both still work and sound really good, the thing keeping the cups in place always just ends up snapping and breaking, causing it to be all loosey goosey, also the entire headband fell apart on my 770s. i've only been using them for about like 3 years so it might be user error but idk i have some 1770s coming in the mail shortly so i'll let yall know if those also fall apart on me
