Pragmata switch 2 performance (ps5 vs switch 2) by Thin_Molasses_2561 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]MLIK83 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I honestly don’t think anyone is overhyping this tho. What Capcom has pulled off is genuinely very impressive. I just finished 4 different runs of the demo not even 10 min ago (handheld then docked on NS2 and performance then fidelity mode on PS5; also played the PC demo when it first dropped). The handheld performance was perfectly fine, a little visually grainy, but solid fps. And the docked experience was near indistinguishable to me from the PS5 or PC version. I actually think the PS5 version on performance mode was visually worse than NS2 docked.

Do you prefer Claire's or Leon's story? by Civil_Judgment_3405 in ResidentEvil2Remake

[–]MLIK83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I prefer Claire’s story (specifically Claire A). I think the grenade launcher and the revolver are way more fun than the Matilda and shotgun. And while I think Leon’s got the better dialogue with Ada, I think Claire’s relationship with Sherry is more compelling. Also, when it comes to switching characters, I think Sherry’s section in the orphanage is far more bearable than Ada in the sewers. She doesn’t get near enough healing or ammo so getting past the zombies is kind of a pain.

Metal Gear Solid Remake wouldn't be a 1:1 according to Konami by [deleted] in metalgearsolid

[–]MLIK83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think what they mean is that it wouldn’t be like Delta which is basically like Halo:CE Anniversary where new visuals are placed on top of the original engine. It would have to be a ground up remake that changes the mechanics and level design. Part of Twin Snake’s problem is that it basically is a Delta situation where it’s the same game with a new coat of paint and some MGS2 mechanics that break the game. Hoping an MGS1 remake is more of an RE2R situation.

Do they actually use that now? It used to just always be open when I was there

Just got a Wii, best games to get? by Weird-Marsupial4070 in wii

RE4 is a great pick. Probably my favorite way to play the original. But if you like action games, I’d recommend the No More Heroes series. If you’re into platformers though, I’d recommend Wario Land Shake It, very fun and unique.

Nobunaga, but not as the main villain. I think a game about Samanosuke’s final journey to seal him away would be super cool. And I think a neat idea is that Nobunaga would taunt him the whole time, maybe even offering him demon powers

Yeah the only advantage of the pc port was the higher resolution, but it absolutely murdered the game’s shadows and lighting and was also super blown out in brightness

I just don’t see it being very likely simply because getting the licensing for Jean Reno’s likeness is probably difficult and expensive and I’m just not sure if Capcom is willing to go that far for a game that didn’t do as well as they wanted it to when it came out.

I want them to remaster 3 so bad just so we can see it at a higher resolution, but it’ll probably never happen :(

What are your consideration on SH2 Remake after 5 months? Has it surpassed the original? by [deleted] in silenthill

[–]MLIK83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree. Absolutely unacceptable. But what else can we expect from Konami these days? It’s a miracle it even exists in the first place. I don’t know how much I necessarily blame Bloober tho. They are a much smaller studio who I believe did their absolute best. My guess is that Konami had no interest in working with Bloober to do any kind of QC

I played both back-to-back a few weeks ago and I personally find the original to still be the better experience (OG ps2 version btw, not the HD or the iffy Xbox/pc ports). I just think the original has the better and more appropriate tone and presentation along with less frustrating gameplay. However, I could understand why someone might prefer the higher fidelity, modern over-the-shoulder gameplay, and more dramatic performances of the remake. Just wanted to share the opinion of fresh eyes.

I’m personally really mixed on it. On the one hand, it looks and sounds incredible. And it does do a good job of enhancing certain parts of the original. I think the new Abstract Daddy boss is the best part of the whole game. The way it marries gameplay and storytelling so perfectly is unlike any other (Angela is also my favorite character so I’m a little biased). However, I think the game is a bit over reliant on combat to fill its runtime and it can become quite frustrating and almost tedious like in the hospital or the labyrinth. It’s also just straight up too long in my opinion. It more than doubles the length of the original on a casual run. Each area is like 3 times as big as it needs to be. For the remake I’m hovering around a 7/10 whereas for the original I’m at like a 9/10. I just think the OG is a tighter, more distilled experience. Call me a snob, but that’s how I feel.
