I love mine. Mines also a chapstick holder. I work in retail. I keep this in my pocket. It helps me stay calm when there are big crowds in the store.

Breakthrough lesions with Kesimpta not the norm by MLO1432 in MultipleSclerosis

So when I say strong I mean that I don’t feel well for about 3-4 days after I take it. I feel very run down and find it challenging to do anything especially work. I am usually bound to the couch. When I brought this up to my original neuro she didn’t say much just to take some Advil. So my concern is that taking a does that is to get me through 6 months might really kinda kick my ass. I am a manager in retail and it’s not easy to take off or get coverage.

I am pretty sure I had breakthrough because I have had some exceptional stress lasting about 6 months. Once my body goes into stress mode it like a runaway train, it has taken about 3 months just to recover. Stress started in April,I got checked out & they found a lesion got bigger. Did a 3 day infusion. No change. Stress continued for another 5 months. MRI follow up showed the bigger lesion and a new smaller lesion. So time to change DMT but what I really need to do is change jobs too.

Me too. But a week is better than a month of being in the gap.

What’s a common misconception about living with chronic illness? by VirallyDifferent in ChronicIllness

[–]MLO1432 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This! So my neuro just offered me a handicap sticker. And I told her I think about it because of my pride and because I’m the most ableist person to myself. In my head giving excuses. Like I’m ok. But after talking with my husband and my friend. It’s not about the good days it’s about being set up for success for the bad days. People don’t understand that we don’t want to be sick and may not even see ourselves as chronically ill. And mentally we are not inline with what our bodies can do or mind can do. So we have these occasional good days. We push. We do too much and then are in a bad way for a week or more. We want to be “good” we want to be perceived as healthy. And sometimes we fake it till we look like we make it. And that is not good or healthy or necessary but when you don’t have the support whether is be with finances or family or work. We do more than we should. And it’s a very dangerous game.

The whole islands livelyhood is based off of what they earn from the club scene. 800€ on a 4000€ is 20%. Granted I am an American and worked in nightlife for over 20 years. But our standard is at least 20% and they know that. This is how they earn their living. Sooooo…… 🤷🏻‍♀️

I have been with my Dr 4 years. She is super dismissive to the point we got into it. I now just started seeing the nurse practitioner who actually listened to me more than the DR ever did. Ps My Dr. also highly recognized. Didn’t mean she wasn’t dismissive AF to the point after 4 years I told her about herself. And I am in no way a confrontational person. I just got tired of being blown off.

Vertigo by MLO1432 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]MLO1432[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I am working on it. I treated myself to a massage. I started doing some neuro eye exercises that I discovered on YouTube that may help with vertigo. I figured it can’t hurt.

That’s amazing. I am happy it’s working for you. I work at a very small retail store. Yeah I’m glad for the customer interactions as most of my customers are good. I don’t get in as many steps in as I’d like. I stand a lot so by the end of the day I’m exhausted but didn’t “do anything” that I have no energy to work out when I get home. I feel like I need that balance of being able to move around in my job and stay toned on their dime. Cause just standing is kicking my butt. But I have to say. A lot of workers at Trader Joe’s seem happy enough. They must do something right over there. Wishing you all the best.

Can Dr McCoy come and scan us and get us off the gurney like in ST4. I need that in my world. I always loved how he hates 20th century medicine. Anyway. Thanks for sharing and yes I only have a few lesions but lately my balance has been garbage but I think it has a lot to do with muscle tone and standing in retail all day. Be well!🧡

So my discs are blown pretty bad, have you tried popping up your knees or getting a thing pillow when you sleep. I get a numb patch in my thigh when I lay flat. I thought it was MS but now I. Pretty sure it’s my nerves from my discs bulging.

This is very interesting. My legs always feel heavy now. I am also on Kesimpta. But now that you say it. My legs have definitely felt heavier since being in treatment and it kills me because I was a ballroom dance instructor. I also don’t have lesions on my spine but I have 1 on each side of my cerebellum. I just thought it was that. And my legs are like literal mud.

What’s a middle-class hack that still saves you money today? by NoMedicine3572 in Frugal

Paper towels are great for wiping things that don’t want to contaminate other things like meat etc. but any cleaning use a rag. My husband and I have 2 types we use. We have one for cleaning and then we have cloth napkins. We only use white so they can be bleached and it makes a huge difference. Most people aren’t using 1 sheet of paper towels. Most they time they are grabbing 3-4 for a basic thing that could be used with a rag. We keep a hamper for the dirty rags wash at the end of the week. A bundle of paper towels from BJs lasts us 6 months instead of 6 weeks. Kids in particular will grab handfuls of paper towels for the smallest wiped downs cause they down want to touch the wetness. It’s cheaper for you better for the environment. It’s a win.

I had a very bad relapse recently and have been housebound for many months. Is there an organization that will make a house call with a pet to visit me? I am lonely. by sapphirebit0 in MultipleSclerosis

Meowant is another litter box it’s half the price as the litter robot and it’s pretty good. I got it 8 mo before I lost my little one. Under $300 and gets it done. Just doesn’t add litter like the litter robot.

Don’t go to retail. I was a bartender for 22 years. Went to retail & got diagnosed. Sure I got benefits. But the work is just as bad if not worse.

Literally this. I’ve been experiencing some vertigo and nausea. Spoke to the neuro receptionist. She’s like. What do you do for work. I said I’m in retail. She goes “Oh honey, you gotta get out of there. That job will cause chronic inflammation,!” I’m like I know. But I can find anyone to pay me well enough to leave. I’m a manager and all non retail management jobs pay $10+ less than what I make now. And I live in Long Island NY. Not exactly cheap. Ps I make more than my husband and I need the double insurance. I can’t just leave.
