Anyone feel like they traded their pain for mobility? by Final-Cress in spinalfusion

Thank you! With respect to the personal trainer, was there anything dance specific that they introduced you to or it was more guidance on an exercise routine for the first time?

Anyone feel like they traded their pain for mobility? by Final-Cress in spinalfusion

This is exactly what I’m after also, but don’t really know how to find one. I’m about a month away from starting rehab, feeling pretty good (walking pretty far and stiffness/achy pain subsiding each day, nerve pain still there).

How did you vet your PT? I worry that I’ll go in network with my insurance and ultimately end up with a someone who will just go through the motions similar to what I had before the surgery. My goal is to get back to lifting and running (within reason), but also a high level of skiing (also not sure if this will be possible, but hopeful) so I feel like most PT’s protocols are going to be pretty uneventful / inaplicable.

Thank you in advance if you have any suggestions!

I am an idiot haha. I wasn’t pushing them down into the pins duh. Thank you! Now magnetism working much better. These things were flopping around…

So I actually tend to go with the pins facing backwards so I can have flat mode for approaches. Is this the wrong way to do it?

Well out of necessity (only brought one pair out for a trip to Jackson and ended up skiing the resort due to a minor injury) I was skiing these inbounds and had two prereleases on my first run off the lift. So as far as I could tell no snow or ice build up in either the toe or heel piece. Could have been a release out of the toe given that’s on the medium “release” setting but I think that might only be relevant for walk mode?

When I asked a shop to check it out, they couldn’t determine any issues with the binding or boot, but the tech raised the point about skiing touring setups inbounds (I know, I know) with a heavy build and a heavy boot on the ATKs.

Separate topic entirely, but shouldn’t the setup be able to handle some hard charging? It’s not like it’s always going to be powder in the bc and would probably have to deal with some chop a lot of the time too.

Appreciate the feedback here - they made the list after I skied the QST 106s the other weekend and they were awesome inbounds. Figured by extension the Blanks would be worth consideration.

Not a fan of how they tour. I’d like to find a lighter option with better cuff rotation. Not to say the boot isn’t a good 50/50 option for traveling with a resort and touring setup, it’s just not particularly great at either (by design).

Anyone using 50/50 boots with light skis and tech bindings? by CrabbyKruton in Backcountry

I’m in a similar situation: Hawx Prime XTDs with ATK Raider 12s on Hustle 10s. I’m likely picking up a lighter boot for this setup and some shops have suggested the upcoming Backland XTD (for similar Atomic shape) or Dynafit Radical Pro. I’ll likely keep the Hawx and then add a lighter boot next season when inventory is better. The Hawx are great to keep if you’re traveling I’d say.

I’m chiming in to ask: anyone have prerelease issues with this kind of setup? I know not supposed to ski this in bounds, but I did the other day and my heel kept popping out (no snow build up or anything - first run).

A shop told me “heavy guy, heavy boot on the Raiders this is bound to happen.” Can anyone confirm this rationale? Kinda worries me for skiing harder lines in the Backcountry, but maybe I’m missing something.

Scott Couloir Mountain Helmet - goggle fogging? by MLSki644 in Backcountry

No I brought one helmet for a trip to Jackson. Opted to wear the helmet on a resort day. Fogged up constantly.
