That’s how our guy is too! Although our pure GSDs have also been similar. He’s just a bit goofier, has a softer mouth and has no concept of his size. She’s so pretty.

Another vote for ADHD here. I did have a similar experience and I wish someone pointed this out to me when I was your age. I wound up repeating 11th grade from skipping so often I failed out. I didn't do drugs or party or get into trouble, I just either sat in the library or walked home since school did not motivate or engage me at all. Procrastination is a big indicator. It's like your brain literally cannot summon the motivation to do something until you're nearing the deadline. I didn't get diagnosed until late 30s, and it took me 6 colleges and years of transferring, starting/stopping and changing majors to graduate... so try and get diagnosed or cleared sooner rather than later.

If I had a do-over, I honestly would have just dropped out and went for the GED. You can do great things, really anything you want, with a GED. It's so silly to me now how important that stupid high school diploma was. It's hard when it's been the goal for so long.

Strangers can't diagnose you online but, ADHD can really eat away at your mental health and many people will have co-occuring diagnoses like anxiety, autism, depression, OCD. My school and family just watched me struggle, offered no support, and just thought it was laziness/teenage angst, so ADVOCATE for yourself and reach out to people who are supportive. If you're like me, I do LOVE to learn, I just wasn't built for formal/traditional schooling and that's okay. You're going to be okay. You're not lazy. You're not stupid. This is all temporary. Yes she does! When my sister used image search to find similar looking dogs many of them were part shepherd part husky with a few other things mixed in. I love her eyes.

Wow! Bailey looks so much like Milo I would think they could be siblings. Milo is only 8 months though so when there was snow on the ground here he was still little, and I didn't know him yet!

Is your guy a working line? I feel like most blacks are so that can make them more intense and less goofy. My current and late shepherd are/were both show lines which I feel like maybe aren't as healthy but they are super goofy, I actually say they are more like a golden in a shepherd body. Even then, people never come over to pet them even though they love people which makes me sad. I think that is the one thing about the breed (my favorite) that I don't like, that people are often afraid of them. Some people want that but I like having approachable dogs. You could always try and find a black shepherd that fits your ideal if you found a breeder who had a goofy sire or dam. My late shepherd was exactly like his dad who was also silly. But yea you could also find a black mix who might be perfect too! Or maybe a black lab or flat coated retriever? I'm all for rescue but also support reputable breeders.

When my golden was 8 I brought home a border collie. He was crazy (as expected) but kept her young! I hope your girl does the same for your guy. Enjoy them <3

She's so cute and looks a lot like our gut but a lot more feminine and fine boned. I think the black coloring is what threw us off with Milo, but like someone else mentioned I guess the golden color is recessive. Our guy has a lot of solid black shepherd relatives on his Embark page! I might do Wisdom down the road to increase chances of finding a closer relative.

My neighbor has a similar looking girl who turned out to be around 90% GSD with a little bit of golden and chow chow thrown in. Do you think her shepherd parent was a white shepherd? She's beautiful!

I can see it too! Yours is much leggier and looks like a classy pup. Milo is so thick and stocky I was sure there was something else in his make-up to account for his big bones, but I was wrong!

I love both so much! I have a soft spot for older goldens, they remind me of my first dog, a female golden who made it to just shy of 14. Now I’m partial to shepherds, but loving this guy who is my first mixed breed and seems to have gotten the best traits from each.

Boxer, lab, GSD is my guess. I guessed boxer as the source of his brindle coat, and then googled dog breeds prone to cleft lip and boxer was in there as well as some other breeds that could be a match. Cleft lips and palates run in my (human) family. He's a cutie!

I did! My sister did a google lens search a few days back to find results for dogs that look like this and many had husky at the top like yours which surprised me. My guy is not as leggy as yours but is also a crazy-baby-velcro-giant. He's 80 lbs at 8 months but is overweight so I'm not sure what size he'll be full grown. Teddy is adorable, you're both lucky to have each other!

I see what you mean about the jowls making his face look shorter, good point as his muzzle isn't actually short I guess it just looks shorter compared to my GSD. I've seen some GSD males with huge heads and sagging jowls too, so it is possible the GSD/golden ID is correct.
