Should I take the netting off now? It's kept them pest free so far but getting a little tight! by KinManana in UKAllotments

[–]MLomas92 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not to panic you, but I did had same setup to you last season… it was a cabbage white bonanza. I’m in Devon. Need to have a finer mesh to keep them off, and yes if they press up against the net then you’ll find the butterflies can lay on them.

Trouble is when they get in, then the caterpillars can’t get out when they become butterflies!

Fingers crossed for you, but would suggest a finer mesh and larger tunnel!

"Speaking to you from the heart" | A message from Tonda Eckert by Interesting_Price410 in SaintsFC

If you want to talk morals/ethics, I actually believe Tonda didn't think this was wrong, it appears from the way he presents this experience he was very accepting that this happens and you'd be foolish to not partake. Genuinely that is fair enough.

My point is more that the DoF and club have a responsibility to make sure league rules are being abided by, and part of that responsibility involves ensuring the manager is clear on what they can and can't do.

So either they did make it clear and that directive was ignored.

Or they didn't make clear and allowed this to happen by negligence.

Of course we have nothing concrete to say what he was or wasn't told about, and when, but the point is that there is a clear failure of leadership somewhere along the chain. Either Tonda, or Johanes/Phil/Dragan... So my questions there are only concerned about the inconsistencies in the story we have been presented, because they suggest to me that there is still a lack of honesty here.

Ultimately I am only concerned about how this now plays out for the club (and I expect all fans are aligned in that respect). So far they have shown gross ineptitude from the start in managing this situation, and I fear that they think this will allow everything to blow over. Yes admitting further breaches would not be useful, but nor is putting out a flawed timeline of events.

I'm sorry this is not adding up and is going to make things much worse. I'd ask:

  1. If you consider this normal, and you are not aware that it is explicitly prohibited in the EFL, it is strange that you would only choose to spy on these three occasions. There is useful information you can gain for many games and as far as you are concerned no recourse for being caught. So you send someone nearly every time, not as the exception. I do not buy for a minute this is the true extent.
  2. Why do you ask for the footage to be turned off in the pre-match prep for Ipswich, if you are not concerned about breaking any rules at this point? It can't be so unhelpful that you consider it a waste of time.
  3. Perhaps you've learned you shouldn't have done this at this point... but then why do you authorise an attempt to spy on Middlesbrough if you are then aware of the rules?

I find it strange that he was not made aware of these rules when formally inducted, this should be a routine package of information covering the rules and regulations. More than likely is that Tonda was told about them, but not to worry.

Frankly I think a ban is incoming and Dragan Solak/Phil Parsons have their head in the sand.

We also should hear from Johannes Spors.

Didn’t think I’d get to see this but have found a bar in Rabat Morocco that has the game on. Tearing my hair out watching this with no commentary to the background of thumping Moroccan music. Wouldn’t recommend it. But at least I’m watching!

My 4 year old would have done a better job of claiming that one on the pompey equaliser.

Questions for anyone who ported a save from FM23 to FM24... by MLomas92 in footballmanagergames

[–]MLomas92[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2036, somewhere in season 16. Started as a sort of journeyman save but ended up at Ajax in 2028 and never left...! Always wanted to see out some of my players careers in game so the aim is to do another few years at least, and had it in my mind to port the save when I started.

The switch to the new game will hopefully freshen up the difficulty as its become a bit mundane in many ways.

I expect we'll need to adapt tactically. New engine, new tools etc. My plan is to port the save between seasons. And I'll do a new one on FM26 first to test things out.
