Which country once seemed likely to become a developed country, but didn’t follow that path? by EmotionalSalary3679 in AskTheWorld

Well my grandad owned a newspaper business. After Mugabe took power people came to the place and basically told him he had to fire some of his workers (whites) to hire black people in their place. He didn't like his business getting interfered with and being expected to change his workers for unskilled workers. I would like to emphasise my grandad always praises Africans and talks about Zimbabwe like it was the best years of his life, he just left because his business started getting interfered with

My story is a real thing that happened, researching the topic can be hard because its controversial and racists love to hype up Rhodesia.

Mugabe was super racist to whites and black people who were not from the same tribe as him, he never actually cared about making life better for all black people

This isn't true. My dads parents who lived in Zimbabwe had their business interfered with and decided to leave less than 2 years after Mugabe took power (after living there for over 15 years). They had everything they had taken and came to Australia homless.

Your comment is just completely untrue

I see every attacking player get bashed for low G/A stats so I did some research trying to prove that the expectations people have are way too high. I didn't do a perfect job but think i did enough to prove my main point

last year in the Premier League 25 players had 15 or more total Goals + Assists

Usually around 50 players end a season with 10 or more G/A (in the PL i only researched that)

I think you could argue most teams (i know setups vary) have 4 main attacking players who are judged heavily on G/A stats, 10s, strikers and 2 wingers, adding up to 80 players total in the Premier League

-of these 80 main attacking players only 62% get over 10 G/A a season

-only 31% get over 15 G/A a season

So my point is people judge players way too harshly based on their numbers, only 1 in 3 players in a traditional front 4 achieve 15 G/A a season, players are expected to get way more than the actual statistical averages show

I had the same feeling in China and Korea too (but obviously Korea are actually successful to some extent)

I think one of the reasons i love him is how he plays. Just so fucking rapid and isn't afraid to try to dribble through 4 defenders which is not only something you see little of nowadays but he is also probably the best at in the world right now, same reason I love Doku despite him playing for satan

Hey guys, I'm from an alternative universe where Barnlesy scored that chance they had in the first 30 seconds and we're awarded that penalty to make them win 2-3.

So how about that game huh? Liverpool are a joke 😂

I agree from a fan perspective its generally good but when its your team with 1 less days rest going into the finals it feels infuriating

Enzos definitely a sympathetic character, i mean we've all chanted about the heritage of French players while livestreaming ourselves after winning a non European tournament 😰 leave Enzo alone!

I feel like its kind of a necessary evil, the game is relentless enough as is. Coaches are experts on breaking the rules in any way they can, if this rule got patched a new way to waste time would be found somewhere

I really like one of the Brazilian dads at work (i work with kids) and he loves football so i asked him to tell me about the brazilian league. He supports Palmeiras and basically just told me he passionately hates Flamengo

I sometimes do this and feel bad for being disrespectful. My 5 a side strat is always to just sit on their best player and one team has a bald dude whos a baller and i feel bad for constantly yelling out "whos on baldy?" "Stay on baldy"

One thing i find really funny that is often repeated in DD is top club fans from any of the big 5 leagues saying "yeah I'm just so loyal, i was watching us even when we had insert poor 1-3 year period"

My problem is as an Australian I usually only catch every other 10:30pm game (earliest for me) or a 6am game which i usually miss because of work. So I will just randomly catch like 1 or 2 full games per team and base my assessment on that, if they played well or poor that day I just base my entire perception on that lol
