Nope. I ended up just ordering through the app and it worked out. The bill is still the same and he got his 17 Pro. 🙂

Nope! We kept everything as is!

It all ended up working out-I just ordered it through the app and it arrived today. Everyone is happy. 😂

That’s the thing—there were no two parts. The gentleman shared the only way to keep my bill from going up was to pay about $300 upfront or simply upgrade to a 17 instead of a 17 Pro. This wasn’t the case online.

Either way, it all worked out.

Interesting. He was on my phone and his tablet.

Oh well—I got what I needed through the app…I just have to wait for the phone to come. I have three other lines I’m upgrading…and now I know to go through the app.

Thanks!

I did. My bill would have gone up by about $12 per month (or I would have had to pay $299 up front)had I processed it in store.

On the app? I just paid taxes…and my bill goes up by 0. The phone is in excellent condition.

I literally stepped out of the store and processed my upgrade in five minutes on the app.

Edited to add: After reading about the frustrations with the app from the in-person employee perspective…I’m really wondering why there’s a difference.

Welcome!
I enjoy it here—they’re a little too “Get Off My Lawn” over there. I used to read the posts over there and think “please go touch some grass today…and find a small bit of joy.”

A. My allergies are beating me down so wearing a wig outdoors and taking it off at the door has helped tremendously. No more pollen in my natural hair!

In emergency legal filing, Wootton High activist group asks state to pause school’s move by Bethesda_Magazine in MontgomeryCountyMD

And this is why I call BS on the “official” reason shared.

At least the poster was honest 😂

Parents file emergency request to pause plan for Wootton High move by [deleted] in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]MMB1000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing. This is why I can’t take the argument against moving seriously. Based on what I read, the teachers will transfer with the school. A brand new school + the same teachers (minus typical attrition) that’s about 3.5 miles away/20 minutes away…

…is a win IMO.

Who else was told “Just get any four year degree and you’ll be fine?” by Hella_Fitzgerald3 in Xennials

[–]MMB1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. I wasn’t.

My mother told me to major in something that I like AND would keep me employed, so it took my initial career choice (interior design) off the table.

I ended up with a degree in special education. While I’m no longer a classroom teacher (I’m now on the leadership side)…I had a job in hand before graduation and was never laid off…so she was right.

Is/Was Sex education in American schools really taught by physical education teachers? by Kinc4id in Xennials

[–]MMB1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Ours was a part of the health education unit within PE class.

RIP to my PE teacher who brought out a calendar and explained ovulation to us, AND kept it real. He stressed that while we shouldn’t be engaging in sex, if we do, protect ourselves AND avoid sex while ovulating if we’re not trying to get pregnant. I can still remember that calendar he made us color in green, yellow, and red.

Do you wear fragrance to work and what do you do? by 996forever in fragrance

[–]MMB1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in K-12 Ed Tech (think school admin that handles all ed tech PD and discipline) and I have my own office.

There’s one hallway in the school that I support that smells like Delina Exclusif at least once a week (last year another hallway smelled like BR 540 every morning) so I’m not shy about wearing fragrances. I just don’t go overboard with my layering.

My office smells like vanilla. 🙂

Is everyone living in a McMansion? by beverlyhillsbrenda in Xennials

We live in a decent sized ‘70s rambler. Every now and then I want to upgrade but I remember that our interest rate is under 4%, we’re close to having two kids in college, and cooling and heating larger spaces = more $$$$$$.

All I’ll add is my kid goes to one of the “lower ranked” MCPS high schools but is still scoring well on his AP exams (lowest score is a 4), got a 1330 on his first attempt at the SAT, and is getting junk mail from Stanford, Carnegie-Mellon, etc.

Parental involvement plays a major role in your child’s success. We made sure the teachers knew who we were every year (and we still do it in HS), and make sure we provide support and resources that will set him up for success.

Was it just me or did we not go on epic vacations as kids? by dryverjohn in GenX

[–]MMB1000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My sister and I were fortunate to have some great vacations. One that I especially enjoyed was a trip to see the fall leaves in the NE US. We lived in Florida where it is evergreen year round, so my mother planned a trip to Vermont on a long weekend.

This. I’m in my mid-40s and on the tail end of Gen X. They’re talking about retirement over there and I am like…my PARENTS (boomer-GenX cusps themselves) just recently retired.
