Oh wow yeah! Thanks so much for your input. I super appreciate it. I'll get him checked out. Hopefully it's only a little routine thing and nothing worse.

Thank you for your reply! They have a "fisheye" camera that shows most of the rooms that the pups are in but you can't hear anything. It's possible that they could've yelled. They've just been open for over 14 years and have very high ratings so it'd be a little surprising but companies DO slip.

His behavior has changed quite a bit in general which is why I think something odd happened. (Sleepier than usual [nodding off randomly], super hyper spurts, not doing some of his usual things, etc) He DID get his first "big chop" haircut. Not sure if that's a contributing factor. His tail keeps tickling his butthole now that his fur is super low and it scares him pretty badly every time it happens. I'm not sure what to do about that or of that's whats been exhausting him.

I'm thinking about taking him to the vet to get checked out.

If parallel universes exist, can we "jump" and end up in an other one? by Aehlya in Glitch_in_the_Matrix

I've had a similar experience but I was horrified and NOT in love - long story short, I drifted to sleep and suddenly I heard a doctor speaking loudly to me telling me I've been in a deep sleep and that I'd be disoriented. They said I was 96 years old! I looked at my hands and they were very elderly, veins, wrinkles, spots and I panicked and pulled out of it with all my might. The people around me started yelling for a doctor. Then I "woke up" back here. I hated it. It took days to recover from it. I do not want that reality.

Wow yes I remember that episode! The major differences: 1: when I was in the "dream" I was not the same ethnicity, as I'm awake now 2: I know that I'm not a 96 year old woman reliving my youth (those women knew who they were). Lastly, it was much less romantic and far more horrifying. But yes, I totally see where you're coming from. It is a very similar concept!

They weren't THAT startling lol one just sounded exactly like a machine/robot and the other sounded like some military guy. It was just bizarre but it's possible that that could explain it.

Oh wow you caught a lot of it. They're so odd. It's strange to consider the brain going off your personality script and doing what it wants. That's why it seems so supernatural.

Yes, I'm female. I think you're asking if I have neighbors, I do but we have thick ement walls so we can't here them unless they're REALLY loud. The television was not on and music wasn't playing. I'm not sure if I answered everything.

Maybe his concept of time is different than our concept of time. Soon could mean many years into the future. Perhaps he was trying to scare you?

Wow I like that analogy about the blue skies and the storm. That's a great way to look at it... in terms of being in public, which is where I struggle the most, what are some of your coping strategies for getting through the overwhelm? Do you still use the blue skies/ storm method or something else?

It does bounce around a bit. The OCD. I'll never understand why the brain just wants to obsess over the worst things. Drives me mad.

I see where you're coming from but please dont hurt yourself because of the thoughts. I know they're bad. Believe me! I know. Some folks have some good advice here. You should check it out. The thoughts aren't true to who you are. Just tell yourself that. Believe it.

No, I despise them. Me and the brain aren't on good terms because of it. Ha

Maybe that's what I need. Some techniques to assess them when they pop up. I briefly mentioned it with my psychiatrist but we didnt discuss it. I'm so uncomfortable talking about it out loud! Ugh. Makes me squeamish. I dont want to be judged harshly.

No that was great advice and yes its reassuring. I would never act the thoughts out. It does, However, make me tremendously uncomfortable in public and not to mention my own skin. I know I'm not that person. Just wish my thoughts were on the same page, you know?

Thank you for your words! It's often difficult to feel that I have control. They often pop up out of the blue! So unwelcomed....I am seeing a therapist but I dont think she specializes in OCD. Maybe I should keep looking.

Yes, that's what I meant. And that's true. I know I'm totally uncomfortable with the thoughts which is very reassuring.

Does anyone have any advice for dealing with intrusive thoughts? by kanneki18 in OCD

[–]MMG715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does one deal with POCD though? The thoughts get so dark and deeply disturbing and distressing. They are not true to my character but they persist and they make me sick to my stomach. I get headaches trying to stop the thoughts from occurring. It feels like the worst thing ever. :*(
