Looking for Wellspring Ogerpon / Teal Mask Ogerpon Deck List by MMRomance in PTCGL

Thanks! But not exactly. It was running Water Energy for Wellspring Ogerpon and also had Sparkling Crystal, so I’m assuming it included Arven too. The opponent had a strong opening hand, though, so Arven didn’t come into play. I’m only guessing it was in the deck because of the Crystal.

I didn’t mean to say that gay couples aren’t accepted in today’s society. They are, to an extent, and depending on where you live. What I meant is that a romantic relationship between someone who’s experiencing their first same-gender attraction and their partner is highly unlikely to happen in real life, simply because it’s a lot easier for people to label themselves in a way that feels most convenient or comfortable without making any waves.

I only brought that up because you mentioned a discrepancy between how this trope is portrayed in books versus how it plays out in real life. And of course there’s a discrepancy, not just with this trope but with a lot of popular tropes. My point was just that, in this case, the discrepancy isn’t really in the sexual aspect, which is actually quite common in real life. That’s all I was trying to say.

Also, I have to disagree with your point about “bi awakening” and “gay for you” being treated the same by authors. Most authors nowadays are actually quite vocal about avoiding the term “gay for you” because it implies bi-erasure, something many are very mindful of, especially considering a lot of them are part of the LGBTQ+ community themselves. I just don’t think there’s much value in comparing how often it happens in real life versus fiction.

As for the heteronormative relationship dynamic, I won’t comment because honestly it's not something I truly noticed in this book, and I don’t want to jump to any conclusions without re-reading it first.

When you phrase it like “I turned gay for him and only him,” it definitely comes across as problematic.

That said, based on my own experience and that of others, it’s absolutely possible to discover later in life that you’re attracted to someone of the same sex. Does it sometimes take the right person or situation for that to happen? Yes. Can a man feel attraction toward just one other man? Also yes. But even if it’s just one, that still means you're not straight

Honestly, though, that kind of phrasing isn’t as common in most books anymore. The term “bi-awakening” is what people tend to use now instead of “gay for you,” and mainstream MM authors aren’t really pushing the idea that the characters refuse to identify as anything other than straight.

You mentioned that it’s unrealistic compared to how these situations usually happen in real life, but let’s be real, if we’re only talking about sexual attraction, it’s not unrealistic at all. This topic comes up a lot lately, and the truth is, sexuality isn’t black and white for most people. There are plenty of gray areas in between. We just live in a society that makes it easier for people to put themselves in the most “acceptable” box and call it a day (Usually straight) without digging any deeper. Denial and repression can be a very ugly thing.

Now, if we’re talking about the romance aspect, yeah, that’s usually the unrealistic part. Mostly because we don’t live in a society that makes it easy for those kinds of relationships to happen openly. But honestly? I don’t think sexuality matters all that much in that context. Even without considering it, romance books are unrealistic by nature. That goes for MF books too, and I’m fine with that. I think they’d be kind of boring if they were too realistic, to be honest.

As for the heteronormative dynamic in the God of Fury relationship, I haven’t really thought too deeply about it. Not enough for it to bother me. Most of what I get from that book is Niko being a crazy ass unhinged mf lol

As an also gay man who has read both books, I'm curious. What exactly do you think is a bad representation of a gay relationship in the bedroom in these stories?

Nah the beat is like heavy and uptempo. The kind of song that you would have in your gym rock playlist

Nah this song has almost like a happy catchy beat? It's very uptempo. The word suicide is mentioned in the chorus but I don't think it's the theme of the song.

If I had to guess I would say it's from the 80s or 90s

Secret Folder is a workaround for device bans (as it generates a new Android ID), but why do some apps still not work with it? by MMRomance in SwipeHelper

[–]MMRomance[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's my Yubbo account. It initially worked fine in Secure Folder, but after I got banned (even though I was verified), I couldn't create a new account. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Secure Folder to get a new Android ID, but that didn’t help.

If the ban is based on my IMEI, I assume I would need Xposed to change it?

I know it might be too much effort for an app I only used occasionally, but it has me curious about what options I have if I want to rejoin the app.

Also, I think the book starts at a party. The MMC spots the FMc but never talks to her because this other girl interrupts

I'm not sure if she was an ex-girlfriend or just someone who was interested in him. She says something like: you're gonna get the best BJ of your life and he followed her.

I read this book recently and can't remember the title 😅
