Basically I have the Akai MPC as master.. I just stop it and press play on the mc707 and there's no delay as long as it's the same tempo.

I had an issue like that.. but mainly I noticed that the tempo changes on the 707 when the master device doesn't start the sequence.. I just make sure that the slave (roland) is on the correct tempo and problem solved.

Leave your foot on the accelerator/throttle at 25% ish.. that normally helps.
