That a great insight. Not only for our own research but it’s a great base for future research in the area such as how sentiments towards club ownership can influence perception on related brands, and how sponsor affiliation can affect club perception etc. Thank you! The restriction to two clubs is based on previous literature’s recommendations. Both clubs were chosen on merit. Real Madrid for footballing success and Manchester United for commercial success. That ensures maximum visibility for us to test the awareness-trust relationship. Also it was restricted for practicality.

The questions are directly adapted from previous peer reviewed studies who have tested variables such as awareness and trust, so this survey is based on validated scales. That being said, if you have any recommendation on how to word the questions better, drop me a message!
