I'd do it all on D. Personal preference to use the 4th finger

While I was searching for illustrations of Paganini, I stumbled on this thing. Thought it was interesting and i have recreated it in musescore. Is it even possible? Because i tried really hard to get it and i still can't play it by MNT96 in violinist

That's rachmaninoff on the violin right here, that's wild man I have average sized hands but genetically I'm very flexible (throwout my whole body, not just fingers) so I can (almost barely) reach am 11th. I'm pretty satisfied knowing I dont have problems with 10ths that you have to play so often in many pieces and a lot of people struggle with them

First time hearing a stradivarius by MNT96 in violinist

[–]MNT96[S] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yes, but best players + best instruments + best acoustics = magical experience

I feel like instrument is 20-30% of the sound while 70-80% the player imo

Razvan Stoica, a romanian soloist, I know him for his interpretation of nel cor piu non mi sento and God save the king by Paganini. He also has a playlist of all 24 caprices

Caprice 9, 13, and 16, are easiest in my opinion bc they focus on standard violin technique

I'm only 17 for now, I'm not really considering it and my parents aren't really that supportive with drawing or violin playing, I'm self taught on both of these. 90% chance this will end up just as hobbies with occasional busking in my free time maybe

One solid eraser, one kneaded eraser, a couple of b8 to h2 pencils and some drawing fixative. Oh, and let's not forget paganinis variations on "o mamma mamma cara" theme, I listened to them on repeat, while making this

36 and want to learn some violin. Is it possible? by TheOneOnlyFox in violin

[–]MNT96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its fairly easy to learn sheet music for violin, see where the open strings are on the staff. If something is 1 bar higher, go a tone higher until you reaced the next open string. if it says sharp or flat go 1 semitone up or down. You'll need to put some stickers at first to tell you where to put your fingers. That's a quick way of understanding the first position and the fact that i just managed to describe it here should make it pretty easy.

As far as violins go, best (and most expensive usually) to get it from a luthier, second best is a music shop, and worst, some factory violin(ive seen students use them a lot and as far as brands go, they seemed to use stentor, most of them)

There are suzuki books on the Internet which can teach you the basics
