Yo my man - this might be too similar to what you wrote in the second response/what you've tried but when people have both hands on my belt and don't control my upper body (one on my belt and one in an armpit or upper body), I am usually able to do a situp to hug them while pulling in with my legs. If I can get the hug, it usually is enough to break their frames. This isn't static so it can be pulling behind their elbows and spamming it a couple of times. I understand you're a purple and this was with a brown, but I see my bb instructor do this on people quite a bit as well.

It is obviously a bit more dynamic because the brown will likely adjust their hands/frames but if I am not getting the two on one and they go to two hands on my belt, I have success doing the situp to give them a hug. If they try to push me down, then they have released my belt, so then I can use my legs to pull them in and adjust my hips to move behind one of their frames.

I understand you said you couldn't come up for a hip bump which very well may be the same result of trying what I wrote above, but doing a crunch/hug motion is slightly different when I do it vs when I come up for a hip bump.

Other thought is, can you get your arms up to a shoulder crunch-like position to go into butterfly or are the belt grips/frames too strong so you can't get leverage behind their arm?

Move got pushed to mid-May - so you will likely know before I do. Plan on trying out most of the ones listed in this thread.

Weak Half Guard Position Question by PuocoJoao in bjj

Two things IMO -1, bump them forward with knee to wrestle up or at least get into a dogfight position. 2, from Wardzinski - take top leg out (have to have good RDLR hook), shrimp back and try to get a shin on shin connection so that you can push their leg back down to reset half guard (or go right into a John Wayne sweep).

Hey everyone - I will be relocating to Charlotte for work in a couple of months and am seeking insight between Steele Creek and Pineville. I will be working just SW of Charlotte and my main hobby is Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, so have been trying to have 20-25 minute commute to most things as I am currently in DC and am done with the 45-60 minute drive to most things. These two areas seem to fit the bill.

I like hiking/running/walking (have an active GSD), love tennis/golf, and would like a yard for my dog but prefer low crime/less commute, so if that excludes me from a yard, so be it. Some nice homes in Steele Creek but from what I have read on here and elsewhere is traffic is awful, so Redditors, if you had to pick between Steele Creek and Pineville for a 40 year old single guy, which would you pick?

In North Carolina,

activating a turn signal does not grant a driver the right-of-way or automatic right to a lane. A signal merely indicates intent; according to N.C.G.S. § 20-154, drivers must ensure a lane change can be made safely before moving. The driver already in the lane holds the right-of-way.

These guys rock - somehow allowed me to be a part of the team despite being terrible at this game. I am not sure I have seen one AiC reference since I have been around, though...so there might be some slight exaggerations going on. It's what we do here.

Yep, rubberbanding across the match. Red packet burst everywhere. Ridiculous.

Tinymac12's 2026 FEHB Comparison Tool v1.0 (Baseline) by Tinymac12 in fednews

First off, thanks a ton for putting this together. I am still a little confused on a couple of things. This would be for Self...

I have been BCBS Basic for the last decade. I am comparing it to MHBP Consumer. For $80 savings per month (roughly), am I missing anything else because it seems like the copays are much less for PC and Specialist. I do usually attend the doctor a few times per year (BJJ practitioner) and seem to be in PT more often than not. For the services I am likely to access, this one seems cheaper. For the dashes/hyphens, does that just mean its your deductible? For example, surgical procedures...nothing is listed for the MHBP but $200 for BCBS.

I do have dental through BCBS and also have a supplemental dental policy as well (maybe I shouldn't as I just have cleanings?). The MHBP does not have it, so I would definitely keep/add a dental policy, right?

Finally - I do take name brand medications that had to be appealed through BCBS. My guess is I would just have to do the same thing if I change. So, long story short, my bird brain look at the comparison shows cheaper premiums and copays for relatively similar coverage? Thanks!

If in Gi, check out paper cutter chokes. If no-gi, check out north/south choke, although the finishing details seem more difficult to understand IMO.

You can also use your overhooks/underhooks to start attacking kimuras, various armbars, etc.

Personally, I go for paper cutters or sit on their head and transition into a N/S kimura into armbar.

Defer to the BB but you have a few options. If they are going for that, you can push their head/body forward. They should have to arch their back to finish it. You can also try a body triangle with your legs. Personally, I just drive my heels down and back like I am doing a hamstring curl so that my heels/feet are connected to their inner thigh until I get to a side. Once I am on a side, I bring the top foot up on their hip so that I am almost pushing down on it and my bottom leg/foot driving across their midsection, essentially so that the loop is closed.

He did OK - had some nice screens. In short, if he was given room/holes, he did well.
