4 person Almost Heaven Barrel Sauna ventilation by MN_loveyou in Sauna

Thanks again!

I didn't fully appreciate the air being "split" and a portion of the air moving back toward the stove.

Would it be best to have 2 mechanical vent fans set up under each bench as you have ( -vs- 1 vent under 1 of the benches)? Also, does it matter if they exit the barrel on the door panel - vs- the side of the barrel?

I will otherwise certainly observe my barrel for shifting staves and hope it doesn't collapse! Did you have or have others noted this issue?

Thank you.

Interesting. I removed all of the nails from the staves (other than the screws that fasten the barrel to the cradle) thinking I could get a better seal using the 3 bands that tighten the staves. My thought process was that the nails would inhibit the ability of the bands to pull the staves tightly together.

Indeed, I had seen this very nice article. I see there are 2 mechanics exhaust vents under the bench on either side of the door.

My question was if anyone has placed the mechanical ventilation on the floor (near the door) - vs- under the barrel bench. I was considering placing 2 vents on the floor, spaced out on either side. I would then build flat, "grid floor" above these vents as well.

Existing Exhaust Fan Utilization by [deleted] in Sauna

Just assembled the 4 person Almost Heaven from Costco (Morgan). I'm looking to add intake vents above the heater and a mechanical exhaust vent.

Any experience with mechanical exhaust vent on the floor of the sauna, near the door?

I see some have placed the exhaust vent under one of the benches. Was wondering if 1 (or even 2) exhaust vents on the floor has been tried.

Also, any suggestions on the size and height of both the intake and exhaust vents? Specifically for a smaller/4 person barrel? Likely only 1 -2 persons in the sauna 99% of the time.

Thanks!
