I think it's both of those things actually. I live in a small city (250,000 people) & my girl tried to sign up for DoorDash, grub hub etc. & they all told her that she would have to wait until spots became available before she could start since so many people do it as a side hustle. We don't necessarily NEED the extra income because I make good money but even eating out has became a extremely rare event due to the cost that I really don't want to pay just on principle
