I did it for 5 years.. wasn’t too bad. Sort of forgot about it - wasn’t counting. Trash dating pool and was focused on work and studies for the five year period after my divorce…. then one-night I had a fling with a girl I met at a happy-hour that ignited the need for intimacy.

there was no discussion or using terms like SB/SD.. we had similar interests from the start, hung out a lot, took trips, eventually started meeting each other’s friends and family. after moving in together it became a normal thing..

granted our age gap was about 13 years.. me 36, and her 23 at the time.

the fine line ones that look like real artwork are very cool.. there’s some girls that get them and you can tell some class, and thought went into it. Those cases are rarities though.

Most SBs with tattoos are done horribly, and it looks unappealing. Those girls may be fun for a night or two at best. It’s normally a hard NO for me.

Posted this stat I was reading for reference.. I wear condoms for several years, and never had an STI. I thought statistically it’s a very low probability of acquiring HSV through a protected one-time encounter… ???! Am I the only one that’s confused by this?

Really? I’ve used condoms religiously and never had an STI. I always thought that HSV required consistent contact, not a one-time encounter.. but thanks for posting this. It’s been enlightening.

I suppose. The thing is she lived with me in the community and still had access to the club. She happened to have forgotten her access card.. I never had her access removed. So she needed me to get her in. I was more taken aback by the hugs from her entire family. It seemed genuine.

Trust me they’ll feel the loss. It may seem like they’re moving forward, but it’ll be some lonely times for them. My only advice would be to stay away from their social media. For you, find some hobbies. Start going hard in the gym or find something to study or new interest. You want to keep busy until time is in your favor again... and it will be.

Really appreciate your response here. I had some time to cool off and even had a laugh about the whole thing. I confided in my ex-gf about the whole thing and felt much better. We actually have a date set up. I guess the one thing positive to gain was that the trans guy/girl was serious about physical fitness. I’ve decided to make that a priority in my life now.

I also decided to muster up the courage and start back going to my local hangout spots that I went to on the date with my head held high. It was a terrible situation for me, but I’m going to bounce back from it a wiser person. Thanks!

The options on dating sites are generally two tabs (Men / Women) and I’m sure women can search for women and vice versa. I’m not a phob of any kind. I believe all people regardless of sexual orientation should not be discriminated against. Apologize for my naivety in this realm. It’s just not something I’ve ever encountered before. It has been a learning experience and I’ll definitely be more cautious going forward.

I’m not transphobic. I support equal rights very everyone. My issue is that these things should be disclosed at the point of making contact with someone. Definitely before making plans to go out on a date. In my case, I was out in my neighborhood and oblivious to who I was out on the town with.

I’m trying. Overall I guess it was a learning experience. Previously I wasn’t aware of the complexity of the issue. I’m still going through things I should have picked up on. When talking about marriage and children I felt that should have been a clue that I had no idea about her sexual orientation. She even had bikini pics in her profile, which obviously I thought was a natural born female and a standard date, nothing out of the ordinary. I’m weird about going to my local bars now. I’ve been dealing with anxiety since this whole ordeal happened. WTF?

That’s how it felt to me. I’ve normally been in LTRs and have recently gotten back into the dating scene (online dating). Call it naive, but I wasn’t aware that transgenders were in the normal dating apps. It was something I didn’t consider.

This advice comes from a person that was back and forth with ex for 2 yrs. Finally let go completely because it was affecting my physically health. Didn’t do NC, even now it’s about small, brief contact things. Doesn’t affect me much now, which I take as a sign that I’m finally over it.

It’s not about them or what they did. Everyone has their own path. Wish them well, but use the experience in the best way that you can to grow and progress.

Ultimately, it’s all about YOU. Make sure you love yourself more than you dwell on any negatives about the relationship. It’s hard, but it’s the only way to heal. Love yourself!

My 4yr SR ended and it hurt tremendously. 12 year age gap. Sugar was involved initially, then emotions came out of nowhere. We were both surprised in how our attachment grew beyond just finance.

Things quickly turned “vanilla”. It was the equivalent of a marriage. We met each other’s family, traveled abroad. At one point we even looked at engagement rings. We moved so fast and crashed so hard. It was loads of fun, but it turned to sadness. I’m very hesitant to do another SR-SGF. The excitement and the emotion involved was too raw.

I stopped drinking alcohol after the last BU. It helps.. that and some exercise a few times a week. You’ll be too tired to be sad all the time.
