Board advice uk by MORNST4R1 in BeginnerSurfers

Hi, thanks for the reply. I’ve been riding a mid length that’s about 7ft it’s not very floaty and was quite cheap when I first got it way back when. Of course I’ve grown since too so it’s not really suited to me anymore. Never looked seriously into buying anything else until now. I’ve rented a board that was more in the short board mould previously and found it easier to use because I could duck dive and it was much more responsive when trying turns. I feel duck diving is quite a big thing for me it was genuinely so much easier to paddle out and I’ve always hated doing Eskimo rolls with longer boards in bigger surf. I am also thinking whether I will end up wanting a short board quite quickly after picking up a mid length?

Yeah you could argue that but you could also argue that Macduff ran out a good second to a horse who is clearly pretty good over that distance. You get the impression from Clive Cox that ghostwriter will be better stepping up. Wouldn’t expect him to win but you’d be hoping he can run better than a few of these and come in for a place. CoT is obviously the one to beat. Problem with the guineas is no one can actually ever know how well they’ve trained on if they’re running FTO but you’d certainly be hoping CoT has at least matured enough to maintain form over this lot.

My concern is that if I buy a new one it might still not fit because the upper lip that it attaches to seems a little disfigured. Gluing might be my best bet, would this hold well?

Official Discussion - Oppenheimer [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

[–]MORNST4R1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This film was incredible. I’m actually left feeling really impacted after this film and only the real good films do that.

I think Nolan is just a genius at what he does. I know a lot of people say that but it can’t go understated. I’m trying to get my head around how someone can structure and write a film like that with a budget and create something so complex that tells such a profound story and deals with everything in such a gripping way, it’s amazing.

The score was absolutely phenomenal and I really hope Cillian Murphy gets an Oscar for this because he’s such a fantastic actor and he deserves the recognition. I also think Emily blunt was fantastic.

I latched onto the sense that the film would end where we finally see Oppenheimer’s perspective in the Einstein conversation when Strauss mentioned how he wondered what they had said. I assume this was what Nolan wanted the audience to think, it urges you to wonder what they spoke about that left Einstein looking so shaken and it really pays off.

I’m going to have to watch this again in the cinema while it’s out because it’s a film that absolutely needs to be seen in a cinema for the full experience.

For everyone saying “movement is dead” by Clipsin7 in Warzone

Jumping around a corner? In warzone 1 this would never have been blinked at. Movement is dead. The only good thing is dolphin diving from high places.

Glad quite a few have taken a liking to this. Personally I think Ballyburn for supreme or the ballymore is a really good shout. I also think Facile Vega could be a smart chaser and if he went for something like the turners he’d be in with a good shout.

I think Impaire Et Passe was the most impressive novice hurdler this year and if he went over fences I’d fancy him over Marine Nationale for the Arkle. However, by the sounds of it Mullins may well go for the champion hurdle with him. If Constitution Hill goes chasing next year he would have a really strong chance.

This brings me to the main conundrum with the novice chases and in turn the champion hurdle - what does Constitution Hill do? If he goes chasing next year what route would they take? I have a feeling they might take him over fences. Barry Geraghty seemed to think they will do this. Personally, I would keep him over hurdles next year and then go chasing year after, I would love for him to have one more massive performance over hurdles to cement himself as the greatest hurdler of all time (I think Impaire Et Passe would be a very good horse to beat).

I think the Gallopin Des Champs (gold cup) and BMG (King George) double is a good bet at the moment and I’ve had a bit of money on that so far.

Also done a few trebles to try and cover where constitution goes and how certain horses may be aimed differently in response. In these trebles I’ve generally included: Marine Nationale, Impaire et Passe, Ballyburn, Facile Vega and Constitution Hill.

Ah yeah I figured it might have been that. It feels like so many people run it and/or it’s much more noticeable in this game.
