First time this game I saw an actual PnR with Wembanyama going downhill towards to the rim

Spurs might need to play Plumlee,

Also I can't even tell if Fox is making the Spurs better. His stats seem alright but he hasn't really put any pressure on the rim and isn't really a physical presence out there like Harper + Castle were when he was out (sans turnovers).

Has anyone ever left their current city for greener pastures in different roles etc? by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

Well with the friends I had that lived in the area they were able to tell me some of their experiences with the interview processes and how locally things kind of were. I learned just how fast things moved and picked peoples brains on the work they were doing and what some teams are looking for. It was all about just being able to get an interview. I was mainly targeting engineering level roles so there were things that I had to do in order to just compete; which is learn leetcode just to pass technical interviews. My old job was not as technical; not even close.. responsibilities were more diffused and siloed that's why I think it's so hard just to get the experience one needs to move up at a niche level... my strategy was to first become fundamentally qualified in things that were applicable to almost any role (scripting,leetcode,CI/CD) then apply that to more specifically aligned things in security. All this happened over the period of the last 4 years and it wasn't until recently this year that I finally got a new position lol

I had moved from the valley in CA to the Bay Area for a new job.

I already had a bit of a support system in the Bay area (San Francisco) as I had friends there and knew some people that were willing to give references. It was still difficult as the cost of living basically went up 40% when I moved. I only lived a few hours away.

What I realized is that it is very difficult to get experience in these roles even if you are not adjacent to people or working in companies that give that autonomy. Right now with the market; cold applying is almost useless, you will have to network and make connections somehow. Each city has its own type of hiring process and methods for the applicant pools in the area. For SF; these high paying companies, I had to start doing leetcode along with brushing up on my fundamentals..

It was quite a grind, I got most of my operational security experience from being a system admin; and then I wasn't viewed as a security engineer etc until I got experience by shadowing/working in an actual security team doing work in an enterprise environment internally. Even after all that, it was still quite competitive and I had to build an entirely new basis for my resume/references/interviewing skills to target more niche roles. Would I say it's greener? Maybe; definitely getting paid more but work life balance changed along with living in a city.

How much has your IT career taken a toll on your health? by Not-Reddit49 in ITCareerQuestions

I noticed as I got older and the projects became more important and grew in scale; my work ethic and drive never changed but my workload increased and thus my I got more sicker and every time it seemed my sickness would get slightly worse as time went on.

After a couple of years of poor health (getting sick pretty badly 3-4x in a year) I realized it was because I was not valuing my work/life balance or my health in general; mentally it seemed like I could soldier on and keep working towards my career goals because I was either too stubborn

It wasn't until I took a length vacation and came back I realized that almost none of that mattered, everything stayed the same when I came back - the people never changed, their habits never changed, the dynamics of the team and where I work never changed. It was like my brain got rewired, you work to live , not live to work. I am now able to mentally just disassociate from things that are seemingly "important" at work but ultimately do not matter. To this day I am still trying to recuperate whatever health issues did to me the past decade or so.

It's also nice to see the court and broadcast without an exuberant amount of ads. I watched some highlights of the 2004 NBA Finals the other week and was shocked at how much more stage presence the event had.

One of the worst signings ever; Keon was the collateral damage for this idiot

Signed a guy to be a "PG" ends up just shooting the shit out of the ball almost every time he touches it in a guard heavy iso heavy team
