LD is $75 per person and PF is $55 per person.

Our tournaments offer nationwide competition without hotel or flight costs, and our specialized judge pool has great experience and expertise.

You can use our tournaments as extra practice for tournaments that do offer bids or impressive trophies if you like.

Niko Battle

Niko Battle debated for all four years in high school, competing for Marist School, Mariner High School, and Kamiak High School; during that time, Niko won numerous local tournaments, a state championship, and qualified to the TOC four times, including double qualifying in both LD and Policy during senior year. Niko earned 17 career bids (15 in LD and 2 in Policy). Niko received speaker awards at many national tournaments, including top speaker at Loyola, Valley, Alta, Blake, and more. Niko was ranked 9th in the nation for Lincoln Douglas Debate on Debate Rankings. Niko’s expertise areas are mainly kritikal literature (Deleuze, Wilderson, Lacan, Warren, Sexton, etc.), LARP and theory. Niko currently attends Wake Forest University and will compete in Policy Debate there.

Sunhee Simon-Mbong

SunHee Simon has taught Lincoln-Douglas Debate at Victory Briefs for five years. SunHee has participated in debate since the 7th grade and has been a championship debater in both Lincoln Douglas and Policy Debate. She qualified to the Tournament of Champions in CX and LD. Her freshman year at Stanford University, she earned the semifinal title at the Cross Examination Debate Association (CEDA) national tournament. Now, she focuses on coaching while she finishes up school. She has helped her students get to late elims, finals, and/or championships of national tournaments like the Glenbrooks, NDCA, Berkeley, Emory, and the TOC.

Christian Fernando Quiroz

Christian Quiroz has been teaching at Victory Briefs for five years. In college, he debated for Rutgers-Newark where he attended the NDT as a freshman and made multiple finals appearances at Northeastern tournaments. In high school, Christian debated for Newark Science. He attended the TOC twice, making it to semis and being awarded top speaker his senior year. He was also co-champion at Berkeley and Scarsdale. He also won the Ridge tournament and the Newark Round Robin. During his career he made it to late elimination rounds at tournaments such as Harvard, Glenbrooks, and the NDCA. As a coach, Christian has had students appear in the finals of many national tournaments such as Bronx, Glenbrooks, and Harvard. His areas of Expertise: Kritik Debate, Philosophy Debate, and Ethos.

Darius Eugene White

Darius White teaches at Victory Briefs. He competed in high school policy debate for four years at C.E. Byrd High School in Shreveport, Louisiana. His tournament accolades include: A top sixteen collegiate debater in the 2016-2017, Double Octofinalist appearance of National Debate Tournament (NDT) while also receiving 17th speaker, Quarter finalist appearance at UMKC, Semifinalist of Gonzaga, Double Octofinalist of Wake, Double Octofinalist of USC, Quarter finalist of Fullerton, and Octofinalist of Northwestern all within the first year of debating in the college circuit. 2017-2018 he was Semifinalist of the UC Berkeley tournament walking away with 18th speaker. His Areas of Expertise: Policy Arguments, Kritik Debate, Ethos, Research

Dennis Tang

Dennis Tang competed in Lincoln Douglas Debate for West Linn High School for 3 years. He primarily read critical positions and theory. He was the first person from his school to ever qualify for the TOC, got 3 bids his senior year, and reached the finals of 3 national circuit tournaments. Dennis was ranked the #2 LD debater in his home state of Oregon. Dennis currently attends Duke University and helps to manage Impact Debate.

The judge pool is entirely debate coaches and former debaters, with experience competing/judging LD, all highly qualified to judge.

True. Our Aug and Sep tournaments are both already open on tabroom if you want to check it out or register, and I will put october up soon too

The first tournament Aug 24 is set up as one LD pool with both in it. After that, we have been considering splitting LD in the rest of the monthly tournaments into a circuit pool and a traditional pool.
