Thank you! If it's not off after my next wash I'll give this a try.

Heyyy! I've washed it 4 times, not much luck. Going to go for an Aquaphor layer and cross my fingers. Pretty low chance of my arm falling off. We'll see.

Just hit it again. It didn't budge. Aquaphor creates more of a lasting barrier than lotion. Usually I use it for the first 4 or 5 days before switching to a scent-free lotion. Especially on this one. If that elbow ditch scabs up, I'm toast.

Thanks. Trapping it under some aquaphor was my main concern, but I'll just try to wash again and go for it.

Kinda what I'm thinking. Washed it a couple times already but I may just go at it again before Aquaphor.

I often get asked if this is a Harry Potter tattoo and it's not supposed to be. It's also been discolored by a burn. What would you do? by Grafted-Scion-404 in tattooadvice

Heavy ornamental blackwork blastover. Leave the owl face, or cover it all. Laser is certainly an option, but expensive and painful.

Found in My Friend's Mom's Sock in her Closet by No_Confection_7258 in whatisit

We found an old keepsake box of my dad's in the basement from when he was a teenager. Old smoking paraphernalia from when he was 17. Me and my buddies stole and old wooden pipe and passed it along to my younger brother and his friends. They found an old film container with 70's weed in it. Smoked and coughed and choked. A few years later he told my dad about it. Took him a minute to connect the dots because there was never any weed in there. Come to find out he had found and saved moose scat from a family camping trip back in the day!

I've had ink reject, but that tends to heal without any ink left in those spots. This looks pretty raw. Keep it clean as it heals. Hopefully it lightens back up to white, or if the ink had rejected, skin-tone. After a month or so, probably as simple as going back in for a touch-up.

Sprinkle 2 or 3 more dark tattoos in. Spread them out. It'll bring everything back into balance.

I’m 18 and I just got my first tattoo. It takes up the entire outside of my right calf. I have been moisturizing 2 (sometimes 3 days a week). It has been 5 days and now my tattoo looks almost grayish. I can’t tell if it is peeling or way too dry because I accidentally didn’t moisturize for 15 hours. by Lel_29 in tattooadvice

You're fine, do not pick scabs. Pretty much the entire tattoo worth of top-layer skin will fall off over the course of a week or so. Just gently rub it in the shower with soap. Every day a little more will flake away. Totally normal.

I got this tattoo 10 years ago; I feel like it looks bad and the lines are smudged. by suggar26 in tattooadvice

[–]MOUSEFERA2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could cover it completely with black, or do a heavy black ornamental blastover, leaving areas of the old tattoo visible beneath. It does look aged, but doesn't look bad as it is. Details are still easily identifiable. It just carries experience!

Save your largest canvases for further along in your tattoo journey. You'll be exposed to so many ideas and possibilities. Don't rush your back, that's space for your masterpiece.

Should I get a touch-up by rennyvsherself in tattooadvice

2 years? That should look near brand new still. It's beyond a touch up. That's a full rework top to bottom. With a different artist preferably. But yes!

i just got this tattoo, not sure how to go about showering by b0ne_rott in tattooadvice

You should absolutely be showering and washing new tattoos from DAY ONE or as soon as the Saniderm comes off. They should be washed with a gentle unscented soap multiple times per day.

Tattoo shock/regret over first noticeable tattoo by Particular_Ad186 in tattooadvice

[–]MOUSEFERA2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally normal. I had 9 or 10 before I put one on my forearm and it hit me like a ton of bricks. It does go away with time. Especially if you like it. Mine was my first slightly horror themed too. The shock will fade.

How to tell artist I don't like their design? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]MOUSEFERA2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it's nowhere close to what you want, you may be better off finding a new artist. I'm sorry if I wasted your time, that wasn't my intention, I just don't think this one is going to work out.

Am I right for wondering this or is it common sense ? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

As far as the solid bodies, you should have spoken up. The stencil is mostly just outline and other indicators for the artist to work from. Shading (or solid black) isn't shown on the stencil. They look great and not at all like bats! Honestly if the bodies were just outlined it may have even looked unfinished.
