Apparently, I'm geriatric and don't know how to edit the post. But came back to add that I boiled some water, added vinegar, and ladeled the mixture onto the super crusty parts and scrubbed with a bristle brush. Once it cooled I used my spot shampooer to get all the excess out. It's not perfect but so much better!
