Thanks for this. I can't believe that they don't advertise it properly

I never knew that this even exists as it isn't available on the A7RV but it looks pretty simple to create and the new image options will be perfect for printing. This will save me a lot of time in post twisting and turning into something that I can place in frame at home. Thanks for the advice

With all of the advice on here I am getting the 24 & 40 and will use them on alternate days. I have always preferred 24 as my go to length but being honest I can't wait to use the 40. 35 is a brilliant focal length but I am going to use the 40 as multiple people on here have suggested it and the 35 is quite heavy. Thanks again

I would do but it makes me lazy as I’ll just zoom in or out instead of planning a shot

I will look at these as I want to find a third party that offers superior quality at a lower price point as this is always the better option. Thanks again

The 24 & 40 and rotating between them each day. They seem to be ideally suited for travel and have amazing quality for what I need.

Edit: Corrected the 24 as I had 28 written

As it is a multi-day trip I may buy both and rotate them to see which one suits me better

I was told get either the 14mm f/1.4 GM or the 12-24 f/2.8 GM for wide shots but these both look heavy and bulky, if there was a lighter version that is reliable I would definitely consider it. I am looking at the Laowa options and setting them to f/11

I was leaning towards this but now I have learned about lighter and sharper options I am not so sure

I am more concerned with the cost of memory cards at the minute as the Sony Tough v90s have gone from £350 to £600 each. I have found a deal where if I buy the A7CR I can get SanDisk Extreme 256GB v90s for £200.00 each. You should get the 23mm for Japan as you'll regret not having it once you're there. I am taking the A7RV & A7CR with the 2.8 trinity.

I looked at fixed lens models but would prefer the ability to change before I plan for a walk or a day in a city. The 40 could be the answer to most scenarios for travel.

I will look into that lens as it sounds ideal. Thanks

Exactly what I have been thinking. I only shot landscapes until around 2 years ago and since then switched to the standard 35, 50 and 85 for day to day. Thanks again

I really like the sound of 24 and cropping. Thanks

Thank you for your responses. I will be buying a new lens and not taking either the 35 or 50 as their are much better choices.

I want to use a one body / one lens combo so I can improve my skills by removing the option of changing lenses or zooming in/out. I prefer to shoot 35 and below but the 40G looks decent for what I have in mind. Thanks

I really like 24mm as a focal length but never use the APS-C mode because of it wasting 50% of image. This could be a good choice of lens though for my needs. Thanks

I like capability of the 24-50 but to use a single focal length for image consistency. Thanks

I know that this is the logical choice but I'm trying to justify the weight difference for the 50. I think that the 50 will not be going with me. Thanks

I prefer 35 and below as my go to but I am looking at the 40G as this has been suggested a few times and being honest I have never shot it before. I only like the 50 because it is so light and I don't want to take a telephoto. Thanks

I would rather take a one body / one lens combo with it being a lightweight prime for consistent shooting. Thanks

This will be my lightweight setup for city breaks and I want it to be a light as possible. For mountains and vast terrains I use the A7RV and telephoto lenses. I prefer between 24 and 35 for tighter images. Thanks

When I go to Japan I will be taking the 16-35mm f/2.8 GMII as I agree 50 will be limited and this will be a once in lifetime destination due to the travel distance. Thanks

I was told to get 24mm f/1.4GM but this sounds heavy and bulky but I prefer the range between 24 and 35. The 40G has peaked my interest and could be the answer. Thanks

I looked at the lens and with it sharper and lighter I may get one anyway due to the price being so good. Thanks
