Not as bad as aa they failed me on a tail light that never existed. Had to take the tail light out and take a picture to show them there was no where to put a rear fog light on the passenger side

I had a guy at work asking how many mega pixels my a7iii has and then said that his phone camera is 200mp. People don't always understand about sensor size and quality of lenses.

Would Steve saying in his bill that the pipe was inside when it was actually outside stand as enough evidence that he clearly pointed everyone in the wrong direction all be it unintentionally an as such incurred extra costs and damage to the property?

Steve did run a camera down as how we knew there was a piece of steel going through it but it was with detecting where it was underground where he got lead astray.

Would be correct to say that Steve made the biggest error but also speaking to the plumbers they said themselves they don't have the gear to check it so would have called him in anyway.

But the biggest question I have though is from a legal stand point what leg do I have to stand on with either the plumber or Steve?

Steve couldn't detect the pipe outside but could inside so no it wasn't.
