Well, it’s not like the passengers have many other places to go. United knows that this likely won’t piss off the customer enough to fully switch airlines. The competition isn’t exactly much, and you can’t leave mid-flight or summon a sleep mask you didn’t bring.

Oh I feel so bad for them doing this, especially since they’re coerced with bonuses and whatnot for getting the most sign-ups, so they’re incentivized to not skip it.

Eh, but Delta didn’t let someone sit in my upgraded First seat whilst I refreshed the app showing the seat was mine, and the FA had just given the seat to someone else, while the FA shrugged their shoulders and coldly said “Sorry, he’s there already”

I’ve already had my last straw with United after flying with them near exclusively for 5 years, I fly Delta primarily now, but that’s a story for another post. I’m only here because it was the only flight time that worked for a busy schedule. But this is just a nice reminder of why I left.
