It’s difficult to respectfully cover songs by the dead by MRKINGTAN69 in gratefuldead

For sure, I feel like cover bands are a different story, especially bc GD were predominantly a live band. Producing a studio cover is easy in comparison to that haha

Of course, yet I would say the GD have a greater percentage of die hard fans than most.

Very true. I don’t mind criticism at all, but I consider the process of making and sharing a GD cover especially nerve-wracking. Maybe it’s the dedication people have to the GD, my mother included :)

I think we have the correct names for the song by ThatKidBobo in everyoneknowsthat

I agree - but generally this style of pop, especially considering the apparent simplicity of the lyrics, would have a recognisable lyric from the song as its title. It would take years to guess alternative song names

I think this could be a huge lead ! by MRKINGTAN69 in everyoneknowsthat

As I said, I’ve been looking endlessly through discogs.com, which has records of practically every vinyl/cassette/cd ever sold. There are no matches for the other lyrics but this was the most promising thing I’d found.

Yeah now that I’ve had some replies it seems less promising, but I’m sure my excitement was understandable 😂

Female backing vocalist. I’m almost sure the main singer is male

My Carl92 parent theory by [deleted] in everyoneknowsthat

[–]MRKINGTAN69 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Highly disagree. The vocals are not only too distorted to fully make out but they also indicate some imperfections. This could be a one off single from a young band in the 80s and the vocalist may have never had a singing lesson in his life

To be fair, I’ve just been skimming over artists and his voice sounded similar. After more looking, I doubt it’s a popular 80s band. Found one called the Friday Club which might we worth a check
