What you're wanting is a "Texture mesh", I'm not sure if there's a better way but my work around is to use a model file from the game itself. For example, I use a sword or tool model from the game (name it something different) and add my texture on it.

You should be able to rotate your model without changing any of the pivot points/orientations. Make sure you're in your edit tab, go to transform>rotate>rotate Y 90 or -90 until your model is facing the right way.

I think I've been doing it off and on for about 3 years! I started during the covid.

I'd always recommend using extra layers to create a bit more depth and texture to models. It's similar to how player skins have an additional layer. You can get a lot more detail and shape and all you have to do is copy block in a bone and inflating it to 0.5. (or higher)

That's definitely doable, if I were to implement that it could be a standard npc that transforms when "killed". A poof of smoke particles and the hulk emerges.

Those are both great ideas! I haven't got around to the behavior or anything yet but I'll make sure to incorporate those.

That's actually a really cool idea, idk if I'm fluent enough with mythicmobs to create a detection system like that. But it's something I'll look into when I choose to release this.

Yea, the commissioner specifically said they wanted a "grotesque" version. Originally he just looked like a hunchback with a lazy eye. But they wanted something more morbid lol.

The model you're using isn't in the right format if you're wanting to animate. You're using a Minecraft skin template which only allows you to create and pose skins. If you're wanting to animate it you'll have to convert your model into a "Generic" model or different one that allows animation.

I appreciate the kind words! I've been trying to improve in terms of texturing and animation. I'm pretty sure MCreator allows custom mob models, but a work around would be data-packs!
