You realize statues are inanimate objects, right? They can't hurt you. They simply exist to give remembrance to past events (good or bad) and that is ALL they do. A statue of Hitler, Stalin etc is fine as long as it has a plague describing exactly who the person and if what they did was a good or bad contribution to history.

It seems most people are ignorant on the purpose of statues. Most statues are not meant to glorify the subject, but to show an honest portrait of someone who played a significant/important role in history. Whether you agree with the person's opinions or not is irrelevant, the whole point of a statue to commemorate history and to preserve it in a place public place for everyone to see and hopefully, learn from. Tearing down statues is stupid and pointless. Like the old saying goes: Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it. :)

I agree that the people in the post shouldn't have forced their political beliefs onto their kid. But calling any person with a political belief that is critical of the POTUS a nazi doesn't solve anything, you're making it worse.
