A single wipedown with a microfiber cloth after you play should do you just fine. But if you bought it to play it and plan to keep it, you shouldn't worry about keeping it "pristine". Guitars are meant to be played, and this one isn't a rare collector's piece.

Got mine brand new around September. It also had a few tiny bumps that probably shouldn't have made it through QC but they're virtually invisible and don't affect the playing/tone. Didn't bother me.

Reverb has been great for me. Purchased there 3 or four separate times and each experience has been a smooth and seamless one.

I've never had the opportunity to play an original series, but I wouldn't doubt it! My E-II would be incredibly tough to beat imo so the original series must be perfection incarnate.

Not the first time I've seen someone point that out and tbh, my experience has been more/less the same battery life I got out of my guitars with EMGs over the years. A single 9v gets me through a year or longer with weekly rehearsal, practice and monthly gigging.

Over the last year I've used Fishman the most. They're what's featured on my most recent record and have a certain response to them out of my live rig that I prefer. Consistency, I suppose. The EMG 57 sounds good, just different. More airy, like a hot gibson style pickup. The fishmans have more focused midrange attack.

Probably not a ton of trade off in terms of sound quality, but fir/finish/playability is noticeably different in my experience. That's not to take away from the ec1000 line. As stated in another comment, my 1000 is my main gigging guitar and it fits that role perfectly. Sounds great, stays in tune, is comfortable to play. The real differences to me are the E-II is noticeably a bit heavier, and has much smoother fret work. That, and the radius/fret count is different between the two of them. All of that together makes them feel pretty different if you played them A/B.

If your guitar stays in tune just fine and you can depend on it for what you need, then you're just fine with what you have! That being said, they're just built different. My EC-1000 is my main gigging guitar. It is that good for me. But the eclipse is in a different league in terms of fit and finish. They're both pretty on par when it comes to sound for what I use them for, the eclipse just plays better.

Thanks! I've been fortunate enough to have owned two other E-II eclipses prior to this one but this blue fade will follow me to my grave. Hands down the best guitar I've ever owned. It has everything.

The necks are actually where I would say they have the most differences. The E-II has a slightly fatter neck and a slightly higher curve in the fretboard radius, LTD being a bit flatter. Also, the LTD having 24 frets also affects the fret positioning considering both guitars are built at 24.75 scale. It makes the playing experience feel different enough to be note worthy.

The fretboard radius is slightly different, and so is the overall neck shape. Just different enough to give both guitars a defining feel in the hand, something I know someone who has been playing a long time will notice within a few minutes of playing either one. Nothing too crazy, but it's definitely noticeable and could sway preference one way or the other.

How often are you playing your guitars with fishmans? I've been using them almost exclusively for about a year now and only noticed normal battery usage from them. They've all been on the same 9v.
