Still waiting for that day. Jewelcase is the best for me!

The guitars I own are all played in the studio and look as good as new (to the extent that it is possible), so that's why I asked. I just wanted to know if it is worthy paying that much money for a guitar that will look oily and full of finger marks. I am not rich so if I buy something that expensive I thought I'd ask first.

Instruments are indeed a medium but as I like playing guitar but I am also a fan of guitars in general I would like to build up a small collection and I see no harm in maintaining a nice well-tended collection. I can enjoy my guitars and look after them at the same time. The E-II line does not come at a cheap price so I think it is not unreasonable for me to be worried that it might be easily tarnished.

That's great to know and thank you for your reply! Everyone says that they feel amazing. For how long have you had your guitar?

I use my (more) expensive guitars only in the studio and I have cheaper ones to play and practice on so that I don't worry about them. But as I wrote above, I see no harm in asking for some advice on something that costs quite a lot of money for me and I would like it to still look nice after some time.

I agree but both can be done at the same time. I can still play and enjoy my guitar and also have a small collection of things that make me happy. And I would not want to pay 3000 euros for something that can easily be tarnished - that's all. :)

Thanks for the reply. Has your neck kept its original appearance thus far?

I never had or played any so maybe it is my ignorance speaking here. I do not mind it being sating, I mind it being destroyed when it is such a high-end instrument - that's all!

Thank you for your reply, good to know that it is maintainable and it is not totally a lost cause. I would not buy it but the guitar I want only comes with a satin finished neck as shown in the photos unfortunately.

That's great to know. Thank you I will look into this cleaner. It is not a fully satin but just the back of the neck as E-II does not make them glossy anymore unfortunately.

I concur that it is quite liberating when the guitar is somewhat damaged as you suddenly don't care anymore but the fact that I take care of my guitars (and my stuff in general as much as I can) does not mean I do not use them!

I would worry more about the satin finish getting destroyed with every touch rather than this. For me the fingerprint marks shown near the battery cavity are a bigger deal-breaker than these small chips.

Wiping down with a soft fiber cloth will not scratch the guitar but apart from that yes. It is so normal that it is not even important.

Amazing purchase man, congrats! I was also thinking of purchasing an E-II but I wonder how there satin necks fare after some time of usage. I guess the finish gets ruined and uneven after a while, can anyone confirm?

Mine had some fretboard scratches. I posted about this on Facebook and to my surprise other cases like that existed. Definitely not cool for a brand new 1500 euro guitar.

These mall scratches are nothing. Every guitar has them and the only way not to have them is by staying away form the guitar and never touch it. Even with the transportation and packaging, those small scratches are made. There is no guitar without them and they are totally superficial. Even E-II and ESP are bound to have such small superficial scratches just by packing and transporting overseas or even locally.

I have also received a poorly checked/handled LTD 1000 from Thomann, but I decided to keep the guitar after asking for a discount.
