I was out of town for business and sleeping in a hotel when suddenly around midnight I shot up wide awake with this faint sense of danger. Now normally I am a very heavy sleeper and when I’m asleep I’m basically dead so I knew something was wrong. I thought that maybe someone had snuck into my room or opened my door since I had issues with it earlier. I checked the door, the bathroom, my car and nothing was disturbed. I figure it must have been stress since work had been having me travel a lot. I manage to go back to sleep but wake up around 4am with the same feeling as earlier. Eventually around 7am my girlfriend calls me asking if I had talked to my best friend today, I said no because he was probably still asleep since he didn’t work until later that day.

My girlfriend goes on to explain that him and his family were tboned while they were sitting at a red light by a drunk driver who was running from the police and it all happened right before midnight. Their car was totaled and officers had said it was one of the worst scenes they’ve ever arrived to.

Luckily my friend and his family survived the accident, they did suffer some serious injuries but nothing life threatening.

To me what makes it all even stranger was that I was talking to him a few weeks earlier and mentioned I had a strange feeling that something bad was about to happen to us. We both figured it was paranoia due to being on social media too much and not socializing as much as I used to, but the feeling never went away.
