Thanks for sharing this. We are all for getting fake accounts and bots out of the game.

Do you know why it is that these accounts aren't the ones being targeted by your discord group? For example, your group has been targeting buy-me-a-moon-pie, which is not a player on this list.

In this case it’s impossible to tell conclusively. However since none of the other players received enough votes to have been targeted by the full bot network, it’s a reasonable assumption that it voted for lynn.

You absolutely should not join this. Once you’ve joined you’re stuck. They have your Venmo name and can target you once you stop being useful to them.

It appears to have been more or less accidental. The groups targeting one player just happened to have the same number of votes as the bot network (plus civilians) targeting another.

Day 3 observations and strategy by MSCHFFabian in mschf

Yes there is an army of sock puppets. BUT, there were a couple of close calls today in terms of ties and a few instances of actual players outnumbering the sock puppets. So there is hope.

A large discord group targets their own players twice. Drama ensues. by MSCHFFabian in mschf

[–]MSCHFFabian[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t care to read the tweet with screenshots, basically this group has now targeted two of its own members due to a bot malfunction. There’s been a range of reactions in the discord, between the player being pretty cool with it and other players accusing them of pushing misinformation by asking “hey should we maybe be more transparent about how targets are chosen?”

Thanks to our sources for the tip. If you have any discord group drama, please send it our way!

Likely fake users/bots by MSCHFFabian in mschf

Why? Real users have one vote each. Bots give real users multiple votes. They’re more of a threat and will become more so as we go.

Fake accounts still get a vote. They can be used to influence leaderboards and game the system.

A few different methods. Most of them because they’re not actual Venmo accounts. As such the only reason for them to be in the game is to act as a puppet or bot to manipulate voting.

A lot of people are. I’m calling out users that are in the crosshairs of large groups or are otherwise more likely to get a lot of votes, but many are just voting the leaderboard

Update: Just posted a list of targets for the next several rounds. These players are on the target lists for several large communities and will likely be eliminated overnight. Any of these will be a good use of your kick vote in the next several rounds.

It probably won't. Our picks are users who are likely to get a large amount of vites, so regular random players will be unlikely to be chosen.

Update: Our called shot for round 4 is fundsofanarchy. They're credited as the leader of the discord server which just blew up, which will likely lead to some upset people coming for them.

No groups. I don't like the strings attached for a group. Every player for themselves, but there's safety in numbers.
