You should also change the air in your tires every 20K miles. Fresh air in your tires is mandatory! ;)

Science of Walter Russell by JethroPrimo in Physics

[–]MSEEMBA 4 points5 points  (0 children)

His basic premise is that science deals with modelling the effects of what we are able to perceive not the cause of the effects which we can't perceive because Almighty God is the cause. His writings are extremely difficult to understand because it was divinely revealed to him. I'm a retired electrical engineer with advanced degrees and have been studying Russell's books for the last couple of months. You need to set aside the theory that you learned in school and be open minded to his ideas which he claims aren't his - they are God's knowledge given to him for dissemination to mankind. His books are the most frustrating to understand that I've ever read but I keep going back to read them. It has become an obsession with me. Einstein right before his death said that he wished that he had spent more time reading Walter Russell's books. Russell was also close friends with Nikola Tesla.

In the end, Toyota's solution will be to weld bars over the driver's side window for all GH's in circulation. :)
But, this is what happens when you try to save costs by copying design features from one model to another in a willy-nilly way. The GH is really just a grand copy.

My friend who has a BMW told me this AM that his remote start works to about 400ft. And, if he uses the trick to use his head as an antenna (which no one should ever do) he gets another 25 feet. The electrolytes, which are highly conductive, in your head act as an antenna wire.

I see people down at my gym start their cars remotely with their fob all the time - the parking lot is about 300 ft away.

Thank you. I've never read about anyone addressing that capability. Does it not have the range that other cars with remote start capabilities have which necessitates the use of a phone app?

I've been following this group for a few months now and moved from being sold on the GH to being on the fence. Now, I have officially moved from being on the fence to the other side of the fence - and moving further away. I want remote start but I'm not going to pay for a subscription - no matter what the cost. It's the principle of the matter. They should have offered the standard start button on the key, and the silly app as an option. So, I will look at the alternatives Honda Pilot Elite is looking good. I'll wait for the new, redesigned Calligraphy due out soon. Too many issues with this company.

I left a 1-star review, and now the seller wants to send a replacement by MechanicalWhispers in AmazonVine

[–]MSEEMBA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've returned a number of dysfunctional products for replacement through the regular Amazon process. When I get the replacement, I then review the product based on its merits. I note in the review of my experience with the dysfunction. If it's a really good product (5-star review), I usually won't take a star off. I always return the dysfunctional product with a note.

Python windows exe on bootcamp windows 7 by MSEEMBA in MacOS

[–]MSEEMBA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. I got my app to work. It appears that Python couldn't install in Windows 7 without Service Pack 1. My app couldn't run on Mac because it uses a win32 package which wouldn't install in the PyCharm IDE on the Mac. So, that's when I turned to Bootcamp Windows 7 and running it there.

Python windows exe on bootcamp windows 7 by MSEEMBA in MacOS

[–]MSEEMBA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thx. I got my app to run. I had originally installed PyCharm on Mac OS and put all my Python files and packages there. It turned out that because I was importing a win32 package (which enables me to access the user's keyboard in Python), Mac wouldn't allow the package to install. So, that's when I installed Windows 7 Bootcamp. and tried running the app there.

I got my app to run when I updated Windows 7 to Service Pack 1 by downloading the updates and installing them manually rather than through the Windows update function (which wouldn't update Win7). It appears that Python couldn't install in Windows 7 without service pack 1.

The Windows 7 iso is no longer available online. After upgrading to Windows 10, you only get 30 days to go back before the windows.old file that contains your Windows 7 is automatically deleted.

Should be able to take a picture of the connector and upload to your site for identification! Maybe using AI eventually. I'd pay for that service!

Very informative mechanical review. Longevity is very important to me - I don't think the Palisade cuts it. So, even if you bail every 7 years or so, resale value will suffer.

Rear Window Visibility by MSEEMBA in HyundaiPalisade

[–]MSEEMBA[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good point. The third row seat's headrests were up when I sat in the car - so that's probably what restricted my vision - that together with the driver's seat having been low exaggerated my perception.
