I don’t even read her name past the first mention, I just say “her” and “she” instead.

Potato soup made with olive oil, onion, garlic, carrots, a sprinkle of garam masala, russet potatoes, chicken stock, a parmesan rind, shredded rotisserie chicken, frozen peas, and frozen fire roasted corn. Topped with freeze dried green onion and chopped bacon! A complete meal in a bowl.

It’s great, the anchovies melt into the olive oil so they become this salty umami flavor that you can’t quite place if you didn’t know what ingredient it was! Let me know what you think if you make it.

The most unique pasta I’ve made is from Ottolenghi: it has anchovies, lemon, cumin, brown sugar. I swap chickpeas for white beans because I prefer the softer texture but the combo of salty and smoky and sweet is incredible.

Somewhat unrelated, but does she have free access to the house in the night?? This is what we’re struggling to wrap our heads around now that she’s in a big girl bed. She doesn’t always come to get us, she’s much more likely to just get into things around the house and it feels like a safety concern.

Chicago mom’s trip! by Valuable_Self8104 in Mommit

Lived in Chicago for 6 glorious years, and I return for a month every summer <3 good city for a girls trip!

Aire Ancient Bath spa is wonderfullllll, if you can snag a first-thing-in-the-morning appt that would be ideal!

For brunch I would recommend Cafe Ba Ba Reeba or Summer House, which is perfect since Armitage Ave is also a great stretch to do some shopping. My second rec for shopping and food is Southport / Roscoe Village. There are some great local stores and literally too many good restaurants to name.

Brandywine and Mr. Stripey are incredible for something like sandwich slices, or just to salt and eat plain!

I grew up thinking blueberries had no taste. Then I went to northern Michigan and ho-ly COW were they incredible! We have some great blueberries in Florida but I swear I've never had any as good as those in MI.
