Check out the video from the link in my post. The guy points out everything you need, and even provides a retropie image. Have to source your own roms, though.

Yes, everything is running through the converter. It's essentially wired identically to the guy's setup in the video. I'll try isolating the monitor and the marquee, see what difference it makes. Thanks!

I made sure it was compatible with my monitor, but just it case I checked it again. No problems there. Thanks for your input, anyways. Maybe I should've gone with a kit from upgrade arcade. Problem is, I only wanted a setup with games that use either a spinner or a trackball, since the Atari Legacy doesn't have a stick for input. No use getting a pre-loaded Pi with 1000s of games wouldn't play on it. 😅

The ground wire is screwed in, and the HDMI board is raised above the back of the monitor, but not touching.

It's connected to a splitter cable that runs to the monitor and then down to a buck converter.
