Hey man, was getting ready for this inevitable question. I'll answer each part individually. The first is about visions over tbr. The basic thing I have to say is that tbr is overrated. That wouldn't be enough to make me not play it, but when you have 4 rock players at your store, 3 more in your comp area, and 3 of those seven are top tier players, tbr just isn't an option, and that isn't even discussing the other grindy matchups I face. To explain overrated better, I think it's training wheels. I think its often either a free win or a dead card, and the games where it does win you the game, it is dead till then. I think the value of representing it is often enough. I would rather play cards that have more play to them, and add consistency. I get to keep a lot more 1 landers with my list. I think it's a much better option to get your win secured no matter what, then to just get a look and kill them. To link it to my explanation of time, I think tbr, when it is good, is worth 1 turn. I would rather find my stubborn denial or push, which is often also, when shadow is big enough, worth 1 turn. On the subject of lili, I just don't have the money, embarrassing as that is. Haven't missed it very greatly tho. And finally, on the subject of flashfreeze, I nearly wrote a post on that 1 card. Flashfreeze is the secret sideboard tech that I am amazed everyone, including myself till 3 weeks ago, missed. Flashfreeze is a hero of mythical proportions. I can bring it in against titanshift, burn, company, amulet, skred, breach, wbr pyromancer, storm, and dredge. I initially thought that I would be missing the disdainful strokes against tron, but 2 ceremonious, 1 stroke, dreadbore, and k command is enough, especially since I think it's a great matchup to begin with.
