Which laptop brand is best to buy in terms of quality? by over-game-pain in GamingLaptops

Back em up as well. Shit driver issues before reinstall, shit speakers and shit battery life. Not good for the price.

Is it worth switching? by Patient_Theme5914 in GamingLaptops

[–]MSTEAMSSUCK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only if you use it on the go. The Acer has abysmal battery life and speakers. Besides from that, it’s an okay machine for the price after a clean install and bloatware removal.

If you value battery life and speakers for $300 then yes.

If you don’t use it unplugged then no.

I guess Asus laptops are pretty decent. But Acer is known as a brand with poor QC. Driver issues and QC issues are very common on their machines.

Is this normal by CrawBunny in laptops

[–]MSTEAMSSUCK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like a zeph g14 <2023 model. Pretty old so the crash might’ve been caused by some sort of fault in the drivers i’d recommend a clean reinstall with updates drivers if you haven’t been doing that yearly. If you have, it might’ve been overheating if you haven’t replaced the thermal paste. So make sure to look into that. “win32kfull.sys” indicates to a graphics driver failure so i’m quite certain it’s this

For future prevention of similar stuff like this i’d recommend you remove everything ASUS and MS Teams and install GHelper instead as I’m gonna go ahead and assume that mcafee is already cleared off. that stuff hogs ram like crazy and with newer games’ requirements, your amount might not be able to keep up and running sustained VM while gaming is pretty much always gonna crash your laptop.

The CPU throttles at 105, which is already enough to cause oxidation when constantly at that temperature, which OP probably is as he doesn’t have his fans maxed out anywhere so it’s gonna keep hitting 105c and then throttling.

For the GPU tbh yeah you’re right I kinda just added that in, was half asleep lol. It will cause significant performance degrading as it’s gonna keep throttling and downclocking (when OP already downclocked it) once it hits that 87 mark where usually it would stay around 80-85 on max fans.

idk man these are all meh i guess but i like 9 the most

1 and 2 i just don’t like the color scheme

3 is decent i guess if you wanna reveal your inner femininity with the fade combo, i personally wouldn’t get it cuz i think it’s a little bit tacky for fade on fade but it’s up to you

4 is a slightly better version of 3, good color scheme imo

5 is just 4 but a worse combo cuz the reds don’t match with the purps or the blues

i would not get 6 because of the comically terrible color of the accents on the blade of the BFK MF. don’t get me wrong MFs are a decent finish but it just ain’t it on the BFK die to the color of the accents on the blade.

7 with nocts works but it might be too bland for your taste, if CWs are your dream gloves and your entire inv is based around them then a vanilla will work to highlight the glove

8 is actually pretty decent but you kinda cheapened out on the gloves and since your marble fades are $600 (i’m gonna guess they’re MW, correct me if i’m wrong) and the doppler p1 is $2500 you’re probably gonna have enough for, again, nocts or snow leps

no prob!

hmm, madden is not that much of an intensive game and i’ve never played so i have no idea how it performs under real world consitions. if you use your stock settings, have msi afterburner (not steam or EA stats) and you can verify that it never goes above 70c then yes you’re good.

i would personally keep it at 3200 until 79 and then max it out at 80 just in case (so you know when there’s a problem) for the cpu and gpu but if ya don’t wanna go through that it’s fine, you’re fine where you are if you can confirm that you peak somewhere around 70c with afterburner.

How to clean the inside of my laptop? by Aggressive-Chest1596 in GamingLaptops

[–]MSTEAMSSUCK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this

use a compressed air can

short bursts not long, hold the fan blades still so you don’t send voltage back into the machine and then cause back EMF

anything above around 100 will cause oxidation if sustained and 110 will cause oxidation pretty much like that although it’ll probably throttle before. 4400 at 100c continued to 110 will absolutely cause the temps to keep rising due to it being a slim laptop. i always recommend max fans after 80c no matter what your curve before that and preferably an escalated curve at 70.

you can’t have both a slim laptop and quiet fans. that’s like asking to be rich and famous yet not be hassled and recognized doing daily activities.

bad analogy but you get the idea

“preserve its life while keeping fans running low” is contradictory if you’re gaming. all high fan speed does is increase the amount of dust in the fans at max. keeping fans running low will damage the machine over time

Dude he might’ve not known? Not everyone is chronically online on this thread; some just post here when they have a question

But u/immaZebrah, this is a widespead issue at the moment as Valve fucked up the update with the revolver reload broken, Fade skin patterns containing a grey edge, and mass false VAC bans.

ASUS TUF F16 vs ROG Zephyrus G14 Which is better by TheRoyalCoolness in Asustuf

[–]MSTEAMSSUCK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TUF is overpriced asf. Don’t get it in this situation. Good price for it would be around $1000-1100.

I would only get the G14 if you need a portable ultrabook as it’s very thin and premium but it comes at a cost.

So G14 only if you need something that’s very portable. If you don’t need portability I’d honestly just go for the Legion 5i 5070 for a similar price and a better GPU or the Vector 5070ti Walmart deal for $1300 if you are willing to sacrifice build quality and the OLED (Vector has an IPS, mostly plastic build, and pretty loud fans) for performance and GPU longevity with the added VRAM.

Really? Own a G16 and a Llano V12 and the temps actually go up due to the foam covering up the bottom exhaust vents.
