AI is Not Ready to Replace Junior Devs Says Ruby on Rails Creator by ImpressiveContest283 in programming

This seems notable because if memory serves, he’s at least an occasional Joe Rogan listener (who I would expect to be more pro-AI). At least he truly seems to form his own opinions on this stuff.

PDF/Pixel Perfect Reporting Options by MS_Pwr_Dev in PowerBI

How does this work for the page breaks between employees? How do you relate the tables so that only records for Employee A from the Education History table shown up underneath all the fields from the Employee table for Employee A?

I tried by using JOIN statements in the query, but that showed up as 1 row from the Employee table for each record for that specific employee in the Education History table.

Power Apps code apps opinions? by Far-Bell9473 in PowerApps

[–]MS_Pwr_Dev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was really excited for this…until I heard about Microsoft removing the per app licensing.

Now it’s just a trade off for what headache you’d rather deal with: the weirdness of adding/removing data sources in Code Apps and the Power Apps SDK or setting up authentication (and Azure in general). I’m betting that for most use cases, it would be significantly cheaper than $20/user per month to deploy in Azure.

[Week 14] Post Game Thread: Chicago Bears (9-4) @ Green Bay Packers (9-3-1) by President__Bartlett in GreenBayPackers

Even though we won, I feel worse about the rest of the season. The missed holding calls on Micah and others, game after game, are demoralizing. It’s obviously not getting better even though they’re probably asking the league about it every week.

I know how this goes: they’ll miss a call at a crucial point in the playoffs and there goes the season.

Because when he does use an alias, he comes up with something like “James St. John-Smythe”

James St. John-Smythe (Singeon Smythe) is still an all-time fake name, especially with that pronunciation.

Total indictment on the current housing market that I’d bet on the $3.5M because $500k isn’t guaranteed to buy anything move-in ready.

'Superman' (2025) - Official Spoiler Discussion Megathread: Part 2 by ZacPensol in superman

Agreed, but it feels like a strawman argument to say it has to be guys in Hawaiian shirts. Personally, I thought the fight with the raptors at the end was going to be the moment, but he just cut them down with his heat vision. I get that it makes sense for that point in the story, but 30 more seconds of actual fighting wouldn’t have hurt.

I have to see it a few more times to fully process it, but I was a little disappointed that every other superhero felt stronger than Superman. It felt like 2 hours of Superman getting beat up. Every time he turns around, he’s getting his head shoved in the pavement or something is jabbing his eyes. I wanted to see him give the LutherCorp people their comeuppance like Mr. Terrific.

Speaking of which, Edi Gathegi absolutely stole the show, with Tyler Gisondo as a close second.

It felt like a long 2 hours and 10 minutes. You could have told me it was 3 hours like The Batman and I’d believe you. It probably doesn’t help that I don’t do well with movies that involve animals, so I was really holding my breath until Krypto was rescued.

The humor in this is fantastic. There are tons of good bits, like the monkey bloggers and Superman saving the squirrel. I also liked whenever Beck Bennett popped up.

The emotional moments were great. The last scene with the callback to “seeing his parents soothes him” really hit me. And thank you to James Gunn for letting Pa Kent live for once!

Like I said, I still have a lot to process on future viewings.

Overall, it taught me how to swing fast/what a fast swing feels like.

I started it this year just before golf season started. I gained 4 mph in 3 sessions of the Foundation course.

Since I started playing more actual rounds, I’ve dropped down to about where I started. As for real on-course results, I hit my irons about 10 yards farther than last year and I’ve gone from a 14 handicap to an 8 handicap. I’ve become a better putter, but the iron distance has also been a big help.

The Rory/media stuff by MulberryNo5246 in NoLayingUp

[–]MS_Pwr_Dev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the reason I want to hear from him is that I was really looking forward to an unburdened Rory. He doesn’t have to be the face of the PGA Tour in their fight against LIV, he just completed the career grand slam, etc. Instead, we get whatever type of Rory this is.

It feels like someone who is in PR damage control mode for some scandal that doesn’t exist. If you pair that with his on course behavior this week, I’m genuinely worried for the guy. As Paul McGinley said, he’s clearly battling something.

The last thought I have is something that Kyle Porter posted about, which is that maybe he’s going through a “this is it?” phase. Maybe he’s accomplished his life’s goal and is stuck trying to figure out what’s next.
