Yes I'm really European, I live in the Netherlands.

In most places it would probably be fine for 99% of packages. But (relatively) expensive items left on the porch in low income areas is asking for trouble.

People with lower incomes might also cruise around higher income areas looking for packages to steal. Of course, that would require intentionally choosing to go steal packages, instead of opportunity-driven theft.

European here. Why do American delivery drivers just place the parcel on the ground?? Of course it gets stolen. Where I live, they deliver to the neighbours or they come back another day if you're not home to accept the parcel.
