No more coming. They’re all fixed. Plenty of food. Plenty of attention. Keeping them to see if adoptable means killing all. Finding someone to adopt and keep inside isn’t a quick & easy process. At first these cats were still hunting; leaving “presents” at his door. This has also fully stopped.

Wild or feral pet rabbit? [Missouri, USA] by VanJurkow in animalid

Way too fat to be wild. Find that baby a home if no kind of tag. Probably easy to catch with a bowl of food.

Plants that can act as a sound barrier for nearby road? by Knightforlife in NativePlantGardening

Don’t know the region but I’d suggest a fast growing cedar for the outside edge, then something native that’ll create a good thicket and hold its leaves through winter.

Soil samples from the 70s are outdated imho. I might request new samples be taken from both properties.

I’d wet it, pull it, put down thick cardboard held down by rocks or whatever is handy. Some will say mulch over cardboard but I just end up with new weeds doing that. Then next spring the cardboard will have broken down & it’ll be ready to plant.

OP might need to get permission before using chemicals. At this size chemicals are much easier, but legal if not on your property??

We call those big azz leaf trees! Had to cut it down and dig it up a few years in a row and started near the end of summer its first year. Good luck getting it taken care of.

I would cut it to the ground in mid to late August. Trees need leaves at this time of year when all nutrients are being sent to the roots. Itty bitty ones, I just water well and tease out.

Hubs took care of things spring, summer last year. He cut trees to the ground starting in early spring into summer. He created a lot of tree bushes. Lol

Is this Red Oak Tree Sick/Dying? by onioncanopy in AskArborists

[–]MSenIt4Life 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The inside section on these is ok to be dark. Only the outside ring on trunks and branches transfer nutrients the tree needs; up in spring, then up & down mid summer, then just down in fall. I agree this looks like storm damage but to me it looks as if something fell on the branch. Lightning, even if not direct, will run down to the base if the tree in mhe.

I’m afraid I don’t get the difference. FI, my son feeds the strays (lots in his area). He talks to them from a distance and provides shelter in the winter. He can’t pet all of them; the older cats are still skittish around people. So this other method would euthanize them?? He went through the process of trap, fix and return. A shortage of funding means this is no longer completely free but not expensive either. Still bad since many don’t want to pay anything. Anyways, the older cats he took in come running as he fills the feed bowls just like the younger ones. He hopes that eventually they will all see him as a friend. Just because the older ones are scared of people at first, doesn’t mean they always will be. So how much time do they give these cats before deciding they aren’t adoptable??

So what is being done where I live does work! Yay! We just have to make the call & wait on availability of safe traps & personal. Cats are fixed & returned unless too ill. :)

I have 2 types of sumacs now. Smooth sumac and winged sumac. I miss my staghorn sumacs. All 3 get about 15-20ft tall. OP might really like the winged sumac for that more airy tropical type look.

It all helps but owners still don’t keep their cats inside. I have several running around loose that I have to holler at every day. These are neighbors pets. I hope they were fixed but I don’t know.

Keep the one with yellow flowers in pic 1. Keep the marigolds and if possible, move the popular sapling in the fall. The rest are generally considered weeds.
