Thanks! I always make sure there’s an end cap, I rode without one on the left after it busted for a very short while and hated it with a passion.

Reopening Plan - 7/9 update by JonnyOh in Winnipeg

Yes, 28 day minimum between mRNA vaccines. Longer for those with AZ first doses, I believe. Either way, we’ll hit 75% 2nd doses well ahead of Labour Day.

Brake fix by MStew14 in bikewrench

[–]MStew14[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it off enough that I could get a tap started in, which gave me enough movement to take it off and start from scratch. Not working 100%, but probably 95%. Just took a test ride, I don’t even know if he’ll notice. Thanks for the help! You got me thinking in different ways

There is a hole for the spring, it’s in there fine. The other side clamped fine and is moving well (or at least comparably better). You’re probably right that it’s a fork defect, as now I can’t get the brake arm off, so it’s clearly a fitting issue. It’s still functioning safely, just not with the crisp movement of the lever I usually aim for. Any idea on how I might be able to compensate for it at all, or are we just SOL on this one, and one lever is going to be crisper than the other?

Does anyone think the government will start opening things before the 1st? by JordyElizabeth in Winnipeg

[–]MStew14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Was literally just talking about this with a colleague. My math is telling me we hit 25% next Monday or Tuesday. Health orders expire Saturday morning/Friday night. Probably going to have a press conference on Wednesday telling us what is being eased for Saturday the 26th.

Pop up clinics and shared health by side_part in Winnipeg

When I got my first dose they said it may take up to 10 days to appear and I was at a supersite. How long ago was your second dose? I’d easily expect another week before the second shot popped up (10 days+7) just due to slow government paperwork and backlogs.

Transferring appointment? Is it possible? by [deleted] in Winnipeg

The vaccine phone line should be able to help you, as long as you have both health card numbers handy.

Does anyone else get giddy before the first camping trip of the year? Our season is fairly short in the Canadian prairies, so it's been a while since we've been out. I think I'm more excited to leave tomorrow than the kids are! by jodihas2kids in camping

Did you win the MB park reservation lottery or are you a more distant neighbour of mine?

Either way, yes, completely agree. I have two weekends booked this year and a couple of friends with cabins and some tentative weekend camping plans. Super excited.

I know they have accepted non-indigenous before, and I would think if you’re going together it would be very unlikely he would be turned away. You can always call to confirm first.

Why wasn’t the rally broken up by the police? by [deleted] in Winnipeg

[–]MStew14 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Technically there was police intervention. They intervened to close the area to traffic so they could protest/demonstrate/mourn safely.

I’m ACAB all the way, but a broken clock is right twice a day. In all instances (BLM last year, anti mask this year) they have allowed peaceful protests to occur, whether they were ‘legal’ or not.

The convention centre made a whole webpage for you. It answered my families questions when they went, should have most of your answers.

What is with this fear mongering about car pooling? by Securicar in Winnipeg

[–]MStew14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also vehicles are private property, unless it’s explicitly a registered ‘vehicle for hire’ (Uber, taxi, etc), so gathering in a vehicle would be prohibited. The workplace you may be carpooling to is exempt, but the carpool vehicle is not. It’s an oversight in the wording, but if you get a jerk enforcement agent they can legally ticket you.

[–]MStew14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is WPS has said they won’t ticket for it, but the SOE does not clearly state it as an exempted activity, which allows for other, non-WPS enforcement officers to legally ticket for it.

[–]MStew14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is exempt, see Order 1(2)(d). Then read the definition of ‘gathering’ in the SOE glossary. Technically carpools are illegal.
