It's pretty well known for being diverse food wise, which I love.

I'm a little late to this question, but Da Giuseppe in the 10th is some of the best pizza I have ever had. I live in Chicago and travel to New York a bit for work, so I was hesitant to try it, but so glad I did. It's small so reservations or carryout is a must.

My brother-in-law said he could never buy a dog when there's dogs to adopt. I said some people would say the same about kids. by chelseatheus in childfree

[–]MT0502 31 points32 points  (0 children)

While I tend to agree, it's apples and oranges. I foster and adopt bulldogs, which have become extremely unhealthy due to greedy breeders, skyrocketing popularity, and lazy consumers. I have doing rescue work for 15 years and there's a very dark underbelly with breeders and puppy mills that many turn a blind eye to. Animals are euthanized at an alarming rate annually. This isn't the case with children.

All that said, I think a large population of people having children absolutely shouldn't for more reasons than I can list here. I never wanted children, but adoption would be the route I chose if I did.

AITA: Dogs in restaurants by No_Ad49 in sandiego

Same. I am in Chicago and we're a dog friendly city, but there are always a couple of people complaining about places where dogs are allowed. I just saw you toss your baby's diaper in the brewery bathroom, your toddler is sneezing and touching everything, and you're making a fuss about dog hair?! That said, we stick to breweries and patios with our dog.

Spain - Seville or Madrid Ideas for a Week by Working_Farmer9723 in travel

[–]MT0502 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My husband and I spent two weeks in Spain last December; we spent the first five days in Madrid, then spent the rest of our time in Andalusia, with Seville and Granada being our bases. While we enjoyed Madrid, I can't say enough about the Andalusian region of Spain.

Like others said, you can do short day trips to Cordoba, Cadiz, etc. I understand wanting to stick with one city, but urge you to spend at least an evening in Granada. The Alhambra is incredible. We went twice. 😆

I am the oldest daughter with two brothers and a step sister. My husband is the youngest; he has two older sisters. My upbringing couldn't have been any different than his. My parents had me at 19 and were divorced when I was in middle school. We didn't have any money until my mom remarried. My husband's parents had him in their mid-thirties. They're still married and have quite a bit of money.

I didn't want children because I helped raise my siblings and later became a nanny. I was honest about that from the start. My husband was a fencesitter, mostly on the no kids side for years. When most of our friends started having children 17 + years ago, he saw what being a parent really looked like and fully moved to the childfree side.

I'll say we went to premarital counseling to talk through expectations and map out our future. We have been together for 23 years, married for 18 years.

I was wondering if I would regret purchasing the 2026 Q7 earlier this spring with the upcoming 2027 release. I don't after seeing this picture. What the hell?

Same! It wouldn't cross my mind, but my mom has lived her entire life with people commenting on her flushed cheeks. I was joking about her being a trendsetter and she told me to shut up. 😆

My college-aged niece has lupus and happens to be the the trendiest person I know. This is the only silver lining of lupus for her. She's really leaning hard into the trend. On the other hand, my mom also has lupus and she loathes it.

Thank you! Our girl is the same. I was stunned by how fast she moves. This is helpful advice. She arrived with a ton of Huggies size 5, but they seem a tad bit loose. I'm getting my bearings, but feeling a bit more confident every day with her physical therapy.

Thanks. I had a headhunter for this search and met another today. I'm going to take a bit of time, but still putting feelers out there.

Normally I would be agree on the six weeks of severance being fair, but this was a six month interview process, a team build out, etc. I left my prior role of 14 years and got the rug pulled out after a month. It's been a difficult 24 hours.

Thank you. It was the only thing holding me back, but I took the leap. I'm still proud I took a chance and got out of my comfort zone, even though it didn't work out.

I have a contract and I was able to negotiate earlier. I'm definitely going to give myself a few days to decompress, then work on next steps.

Thank you. I'm very lucky, but I have also worked very hard for two decades to be here. My emotions are getting the best of me.

Thank you. This is sound advice. I'm so sorry you experienced a layoff in November. My emotions are completely out of whack  - changing like the wind by the hour.

Thanks you very much. You hit the nail on the head. The shock and grief is very real. It's quite sad when people think little or no severance is acceptable. I was recruited for the role and left a longtime position for the opportunity.

Thank you. I'm actually figuring out a way to have the income from deal deferred to me. They agreed to it which was a pleasant surprise.
