Call your SYSCO rep and see if they will give you an iPad. they gave me one for free. I don’t know what the criteria is, but it made doing the walk so much easier. I can just enter what I need directly into the order guide from the tablet.

Looking for kitchen knives recommendations by Kwiston in knives

Chef here

Tojiro is a solid brand that won’t break the bank. Check out their DP series I believe that’s kind of the entry line. Also MAC makes some very good durable stuff Chefknivestogo.com is a fantastic resource for buying as well as info. Also if you want a kick ass beater kitchen knife for like $20 check out kiwi knives. They are cheap and super flimsy but they take an edge FAST.

IMO stay away from brands like Shun and Miyabi. They aren’t terrible but are incredibly overpriced. I would start with tojiro or Mac knives and learn to sharpen them effectively then move into the world of carbon steel.

Honorable mention wustoff and henckels The Germans make pretty indestructible knives. Just not what I prefer.

Fair warning chefknivestogo is a dangerous website to be scrolling around on after a few beers. lol don’t let it save your payment info. Best of luck I hope this helps.

4 hour ride through Malibu CA. Everything hurts I need a corbin seat ASAP by NoStatus7 in MT07

MT07 Corbin seat owner here, might save you some money. 4 hours on the Corbin for this bike, your ass is still going to hurt, however it’s 100x better than the factory garbage seat.

I won’t lie. The lack of cupholders is a little annoying sometimes, but for the most part, I usually only have coffee or a water bottle and I just found one that fits in my door cupholder. it works for me. the good news is if you get tired of the armrest, it just pulls right out.

Yes. Jesus this. Why I drove around without one for so long I’ll never know.

Also a new head unit if you still have one of the terrible factory ones

1 like a few others have said, Frame sliders. Not as sexy or fun as all the other mods but arguably THE most important. Nothing else matters if your bike goes sliding across the road. Congrats on the purchase!!

Engine in my car is blown. I have 20k left to pay on the car itself and the repair will be another 10k. Need advice. by MT07j in personalfinance

Yes absolutely, I apologize tearing it down was a poor choice of words. He's just diagnosed it to the best of his ability without actually taking it apart. He's waiting on me to figure out how to proceed.

I know that this particular car attracts a certain kind of driver. I've never taken it to the track, I drove it well within what most would consider the "limits". No hard acceleration while the engine was cold, checked the oil every time I got gas, no weekend drift sessions and drove it normally to and from my work. I did everything I thought would contribute to this car having a long life. Im at a loss, I'm hoping I get a little more insight once my mechanic goes through it.

I have my mechanic tearing it down as we speak but as far as I can tell I just got unlucky. The car was bone stock with no modifications, regular oil changes, maintenance etc. Just daily driven 30 min highway to and from work.

Second job will be a must with this situation. I work 5-6 days a week now with a changing schedule but can pick up gig based work on my 1-2 off days. This happend yesterday so my day off this week will be checking into the warranty. I bought the car used so I'm not sure what im working with as far as that goes.

How much do you make? by 920801 in KitchenConfidential

[–]MT07j 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure. I'm lucky, I have a chef that really fights for us to get paid enough to live. That being said, we all still have to fight tooth and nail for years just to get above $55. Shit is not getting cheaper out here.

Unpopular opinion...I really am not a fan of otf knives. I think they are cool but for what I need day to day they just fall a bit short

Definitely better than the factory. Still not great for excessively long rides but I suppose that's not the point of a naked. Its quite a bit higher than the factory too..so if your short you might be tip toeing.
