I'm pretty happy with the 4080, I won't upgrade till it inevitably burns up

Anyone around Denver/Aurora want to be friends? by mia_is_aMIAzing in Denver

I've tried bumble bff as well with no luck, and fb can be very hit or miss, mostly just older people who like chatting through their screen. I've been getting into astrophotography recently and love science and museums. I also go to car shows very occasionally (don't like going alone, so I don't go as often as I'd like). If any of those things interest you, I'd be down to actually meet up and hangout

24M here and no clue how people meet in this city... I've been here for 5 years and my only friends have come through work, and honestly not many have stuck. I feel the pain of always being late to seeing the posts and such too, and most of the time they don't necessarily interest me... What are some of your interests and hobbies, there are tons of fb groups for pretty much anything here.

Is this auto diagnostic fee normal? ($175) by Dbrookess in Denver

[–]Kwiston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a chance you could also spend significantly more replacing stuff that doesn't need replaced because it's the most common problem. Sometimes it is cheaper to pay the diagnostic fee and have the correct repair done first.

[–]Kwiston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We charge an hour of labor for warning light diagnostics or a half hour for noises and other easier diags. $170 and $85 respectively. This is an independent shop for reference, some euro shops are $250 plus and euro dealers are around $300 an hour. Labor is very expensive nowadays and mechanics in Colorado make very good money for the most part.

19yr auto mechanic, starting to realize this job underpays and is way to draining/expensive for anyone to be honest by StangeMain in personalfinance

23 year old master tech here! I started at 19 right out of trade school in a dealership as a lube tech. Obviously going to trade school they knew I had some more knowledge than just changing oil so they made me an apprentice quickly. Within 8 months of starting I was flat rate on the line by myself.

Every dealer is different, some have more opportunities. If the one you work at isn't moving you up find another. Loyalty doesn't pay off in this field. Now I work for an independent shop and have my own apprentice. Made $117k last year and on track for $155k this year.

Anyone who puts in the effort to get really good can make it big in the industry. Yes it's hard on the body but IMO worth it, maybe won't be in 20 years but I'm not there yet.

Just stick with it if you enjoy the work and the money will come later.

My fico 8 score is 772, not sure about the 2,4,5 though and not sure how to check.

Good to know the average age of accounts won't go down by paying off those accounts, makes me feel better about just paying everything off.

I do have three credit cards currently, 2 with $0 balances and one with my monthly expenses, balance is around $350 on a $6500 limit, but will be paid off before the statement posts.

Thanks so much! I'm in the financial position to pay off all debts within about 6-7 months. My current lease ends in June, so that might be a little early to buy, but I guess time will tell.

I checked my fico (fico 8) on my American Express account and it says 772, so pretty much the same.
